Water Board To Impose An Eight Hour Water Cut In Several Areas Of Colombo

National Water Supply And Drainage Board is due to impose an eight hour water cut on this Saturday (05) in several areas of Colombo from 9 p.m to 5 a.m next day (Sunday).

Accordingly the water cut will be imposed in Colombo-13,Colombo-14 , Colombo-15,Baseline Road to Kelaniya Bridge and Sea Street areas the Water Board has announced.

President Wants The Court To Take A Decision Regarding Central Bank Bond Scam Issue

President Maithripala Sirisena has said today (03) that the Controversial Central Bank Bond Scam issue should be submitted to the courts for an unbiased ruling without any political interference .

Politicians should not interfere regarding the further investigations on this matter the President has stressed while addressing a function held at Maharagama today (03).

Late Pandith Amaradeva's Funeral To Be Held At Independence Square With Full State Honors

The final rites of the late singer and musician Pandith W.D Amaradeva who passed away this morning  is due to be held this Saturday(05) at 3 p.m in Independence Square ,Colombo with full state honors government has announced.

The remains of the later singer who considered as a national treasure will lie at Independence Square,Colombo from 10 a.m tomorrow (04) to 3 p.m on Saturday for public to pay their last respect .The cremation will take place at 6 p.m on Saturday .

Earlier it has been reported that the body of  Late Pandith Amaradeva is due to handover to the Ayrveda Collage .Now the remains lie at Jayaratne Funeral Parlor.

A Disabled Soldier Had Launched A Fast Unto Death In Front Of Fort Railway Station

Image result for fast in wordsA disabled soldier who lost his both eyes and hands due to the war had launched a continuous fast unto death this morning in front of the Colombo Fort Railway Station by demanding pensions for retired disabled soldiers in tri forces and Police Officers who have not completed 12 years of service.

At present the retired disabled soldiers in tri forces and police who have not completed 12 years of service  not received any pension benefit .

Retired disabled tri force soldiers and Police Officers had conducted several protest marches in Colombo  during last few days by demanding a pension scheme for them.
