A Stock Of Ammuntion Had Recovered From A Well At North Central Provincial Governor's House

A stock of ammunition had found from the well
located at the official residance of North Central Provincial Governor today (16) it has been reported.

The ammuntion stored in the deep of the well and bullets believed to be several years old  and stored in  the well have been  recovered, according to the Anuradhapura Police.

Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.




A Campaign To Sign A Petition Urging Government To Increase Tobacco Tax Has Began

A campaign of signing a public petition to urge the government to implement the decision taken on increasing the tax imposed on tobacco related products by 90 percent, has began today(16) near the public bus stand at Anuradhapura.

An organization called "Pudina Mal" comprising with relatives of those who died and fallen criticaly ill as a result of smoking has organized this campaign it has been reported.

After the petition signed by the people around the country it is due to hand over to the President Maithripala Sirisena.

One Person Was Killed And Six Others Injured Due To A Bus-Lorry Collision At Meerigama

One person was killed and six persons were injured and hospitalized following a Bus-Lorry collision occurred in loluwagoda area at Meerigama (Western Province)today (16).

The injured were admitted to the Dambadeniya Hospital and one of them was transferred to  Kurunagala Teaching Hospital for further treatment according to the Meerigama Police.

The deceased has been identified as a resident in Narammala Area and the Meerigama Police are conducting an investigations on the accident.
