New Commander Of The Special Task Force Has Been Appointed

Image result for appointmentThe National Police Commission has appointed the Senior Deputy Inspector General Of Police(DIG) M.R Latheef as the new commander of the Police  Special Task Force(STF).This appointment has  ratified by the Inspector General Of Police(IGP) Pujitha Jayasundera.

He is due to assume his duties as the STF Commander  tomorrow(18).

Bribery Commission Has Filed Five Bribery Cases Against Former President's Chief Security Officer

The Bribery Commission has today(18) filed five bribery cases in Colombo Magistrate court against Army Major Neville Wanniarachchi who is the chief security officer of former President Mahinda Rajapakshe.

These five cases  had filed as a a result of not revealing his assets and liabilities earned for the period 2010 to 2014 the Bribery Commission has informed the court today.

The former president's chief security officer Neville Wanniarachchi is due to appear before the court on 28th of September as per the order of the Magistrate court it has been revealed.

Navy Have Rescued Three Fishermen On A Board Of A Sinking Boat

Image result for SRI LANKA NAVYNavy Personal have rescued three fishermen who were on the board of a damaged sinking boat at Okanda area the Navy have announced.

The boat the rescued fishermen were in was sinking as a result of  a wreck sustained in the Hull the Navy have stated.

Navy Personal brought the rescued fishermen ashore and provided them food, water and first aid it has been reported.

Three Teenagers Have Detained For Pelting Stones At A Postal Train In Narahenpita

Narahenpita Police have today (17) detained three teenagers of the ages of 16,17 and 18 years who had pelted stones at a postal train from Awissawella to Colombo Fort at Narahenpita Area.

Due to the stoning few windows of train had broken it has been reported.

When police have questioned the reason for pelting stones at the train from the detained students they had replied  for fun they had done that police sources stated.

The detained teenagers who are residents in pichchamalwatte area in Narahenpita are due to produce before Hulftsdorf Magistrate Court tomorrow (18).

As several stoning incidents reported during past few weeks railway authorities have tightened the security in trains,
