Around 12 Female Tea Pluckers Have Hospitalized Due To A Wasp Attack

Around 12 female Tea Pluckers have been injured and hospitalized today (25) due to a wasp attack occurred at Campian Tea Estate in Bagawanthalawa Area it has been reported.

Breaking of  a nest which housed wasps has been identified as the reason for the attack.

The injured were admitted to the Bagawanthalawa Provincial Hospital.

German Government To Provide 13 Million Euros For Five Sri Lankan Projects

The German government has decided to grant 13 million Euros to Sri Lanka to utilize it for five local projects.

The Secretary of the Ministry Of Finance and German Ambassador to Sri Lanka have today (25) signed an agreement regarding the relevent grant.

The German government's grant is due to be utilized for projects including Wilpattu National Park,A regional management project and Vocational Training Projects in North and Eastern Provinces .

The grant has been provided as a result of Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena's visit to Germany recently.

Colombo High Court To Consider The Revision Petition Of Detained Former DIG Anura Senanayake On 08th Of September

The Colombo High Court is due to consider the revision petition filed by Former senior Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG) Anura Senanayake who is currently in remand over a murder case by seeking his release on 08th of September.


The revision petition which was filed by the former DIG Senanayake through his counsal has named the Attorney General ,director of Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and several other officials  as respondents.

The revision petition was filed by the former DIG who was detained and remanded over the murder of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen after the Colombo Magistrate Court has dismissed his bail application several times.

The former DIG Senanayake was detained by the CID on 23rd of May after being questioned on the murder for several times.

Court Of Appeal To Consider A Writ Application Filed Against Former LTTE Leader KP On 25th Of October

The Court of Appeal is due to consider a writ application filed against Former LTTE procurement wing leader and International Secretary Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP on 25th of October.

Accordingly the court will decide whether to go ahead or not with the application on 25th of October.

The Appeals Court has earlier informed the Attorney General to submit an investigation report on KP.

 The court has also issued an interim order on 05th of february  by directing immigration emigration controller to prevent KP from leaving the country.
