Ella Police Have Detained A British Female Tourist While Begging For Money By Playing A Violin

The Ella (In Badulla District) police have detained a young British female tourist who was playing a violin by sitting on the road side at Ravana Ella area to beg money it has been reported.

The 24 year old female tourist who arrived in Sri Lanka on 08th of July for a ond month period has told the police that she has decided to beg money by playing the violin as she has no money to cover her daily expenses.

The police have later warned and released the tourist .Under the Immigration and Emigration Act in Sri Lanka begging is strictly prohibited for
foreigners who arrived here as tourists . 

One Person Was Killed And Four Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Car-Lorry Collision

One person was killed and four others got injured and  hospitalized due to a head on collission between a motor car and a lorry at pahala madurupitiya in Attangalla (In Western Province) this evening.

The injured were admitted to the wathupitiwala hospital for treatment and few who are in critical condition were later transferred to the Colombo,National Hospital.

The victims of the accident are attached to a company in katunayake free trade zone it has been reported.

Negambo Police Have Ceized A Stock Of 800 KG Of Gun Powder For Storing In A Different Store Room

The Negambo police have ceized around 800 kilo grammes of gun powder which kept at a store in Negambo area by violating the regulations.

The stock of gun powder has been seized due to it being kept in a different store room although the owner of the gun powder stock has a valid permit to store snd sell the gun powder the police have stated.

Judicial Services Commission Has Interdicted The Minuwangoda Magistrate

The Judicial Services Commission has interdicted the Minuwangoda District Magistrate with immediatte effect following a complaint received by the co mission  against the Magistrate .

The Minuwangoda Magistrate was interdicted with effrct from last Friday (22) according to sources.

The Judicial Services Commission has began an inqiary regarding the complaint received against the Magistrate it has been reported.
