Voting In Parliament For Supplementary Sum Of Rs.55 Million Moved By The Government Ended Up With A Tie

Image result for sri lanka parliament'The voting that taken place in Parliament yesterday(05) on the Supplementary Sum of Rs.55 Million moved by the Government for the Fiscal Year 2016  ended up with a tie by 31 voted for and 31 against ,it has been reported.

Due to the tie in the voting a fresh vote on the Supplementary Sum is expected to be taken in the Parliament.

Government has moved the supplementary sum of Rs.55 Million as the article 151 of the constitution has stated that Parliament may by law set up contingencies fund for urgent and unforeseen expenditure.

Traffic OIC Of Laggala Police Station Has Been Interdicted

Image result for interdictedThe Officer In Charge (OIC) of the Traffic Unit of the Laggala Police Station who was alleged as taken part in a social gathering the night before the firearms robbery at  Laggala(In Central Province) Police Station to utilize Alcohol in  Police Barracks has been interdicted with effect from today(05) .

According to the instructions of ASP in Matale N.Janaka Weerasinghe ,Sub Inspector (SI)Of Laggala Police Station Mahesh Pryanga has been interdicted in this connection it has been reported.

Five Revolvers and a T-56 Rifle were stolen from the Laggala Police Station on early morning of 14th of April by an individual while four police officers were in the duty at the Police Station at that time,

Three Police Officers who were in the duty at the time of the firearms robbery in Laggala Police Station had been interdicted recently.

The Robbed Firearms were later recovered from near a water tank in the premises of  Sandagala Temple at Wellewela.

Sri Lanka Navy Have Detained Five Indian Nationals And A Sri Lankan Transported A Stock Of Kerala Cannabis To Sri Lanka

Image result for detainedThe Sri Lanka Navy Officers have detained five Indian Nationals with a Boat they were in while transporting around 120 Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabis to SrI Lanka by sea.

The arrest was made when the Indian Boat was heading towards Silavathurai in Northern Sri Lanka and the Navy suspected that  the stock of Kerala Cannabis in the Boat has been brought from India.

Navy Officers have also detained the Sri Lankan smuggler who had involved in this racket along with a Dinghy Boat The Navy have announced.

The Five detained Indians and a Sri Lankan along with the stock of Cannabis are due to be handed over to the Kalpitiya Police for further investigations on the incident.
