Consumer Affairs Authority Has Made 2000 Raids At Stalls During Festive Season

The Consumer Affairs Authority has made around 2000 raids at stalls island wide during the festive season from 21st of March to 12th of April according to the Authority.

The raids have been carried out regarding selling consumer goods for higher prices,not indicating the prices of goods,selling outdated products and changing details of goods the Consumer Affairs Authority has stated.

The Authority is due to file legal cases against errant traders during coming week it has been reported.

Police Detained Two Bangladeshi Nationals Who Stayed In Sri Lanka Illegally

The Police have yesterday (17) arrested two Bangladeshi Nationals who stayed in Sri Lanka by violating immigration and emigration laws it has  been reported.

Wariyapola Police Officers have made these arrests at Wariyapola,Minuwangate Area according to an information received by the Police.

The suspected Bangladeshi Nationals arrived in Sri Lanka from Tourist Visas and they are due to be produced before Wariyapola Magistrate Court.

Government To Conduct A Survey On Quality Status Of Dried Chilies In The Local Market

Image result for dried chilesGovernment has decided to conduct a survey on the quality status of Dried Chilies in the local market according to Ministry Of Industries And Commerce.

A survey will be conducted to test the quality of Dried Chilies available in local market according to the complaints received from Consumers and Non Governmental Organizations stating there are quality problems of  Dried Chilies in the market the Ministry has stated.

Ministry Of Industries And Commerce has already taken samples of Dried Chilies from the local market and sent them to the Government Analyst for further investigations it has been reported.

Sri Lanka Cricket Board To Call A Fitness Assessment Test For Sri Lankan Fast Bowler Lasith Malinga -Explanation Too Call From Him Over His Media Statements

Sri Lanka Cricket has decided to call Sri Lankan Fast Bowler Lasith Malinga for a fitness assessment test on this Wednesday (20) before an expert panel of doctors appointed by Sri Lanka Cricket Board to check his injury status and declare whether he is fit for playing  Indian Premier League(IPL) 20-20 matches in India.

Although Indian Media have  reported that Lasith Malinga will be join his team Mumbai Indians of the IPL by this Friday ,he has still not informed about his visit to India or intention to play in IPL Sri Lanka Cricket Board has stated.

Sri Lanka Cricket Board has also decided to call an explanation from Lasith Malinga regarding the statements he made to the Media last few days regarding Sri Lanka Cricket Board Officials."A suitable action will be taken against him if he found guilty for violating disciplinary code "Cricket Board has stated.

During the recently concluded World Cup 20-20 Series in India ,Lasith Malinga has pulled out from the series citing injury problems and as a result Sri Lankan National Cricket Team knocked out from the tournament in the first round.

Due to this situation the Chief Cricket Selector Aravinda De Silva has stated he doubted Malinga's fitness claims and as a result  Malinga made certain comments against Sri Lanka Cricket Officials.
