Ports Authority Workers Suspended Their Fast Unto Death Campaign Following The Assurance Made by Prime Minister

After the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has given  an assurance to grant the  demands of  Sri Lanka Ports Authority Joint Trade Unions Forum including paying of New Year Bonus  , the fast unto death campaign launched by four Ports Authority Workers has called off this evening.

The four ports authority workers including Trade Union Leaders had commenced a fast unto death campaign in front of Colombo Harbor yesterday(10) by demanding several service demands including the paying of New Year Bonus.

Earlier the Trade Unions had launched a work to rule campaign in Colombo Harbor by demanding solutions for their service demands.

Police Have Arrested Two Persons With Two Locally Made Bombs At Dematagoda

Image result for arrestedThe Police have today(11) arrested two persons at Dematagoda(In Colombo) with two locally made Duppy Type  Bombs in their possession .

Police Officers attached to Dematagoda Police Station had arrested the two suspects and the locally made bombs at Kalipulla Watta in Dematagoda  it has been reported.

Dematagoda Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.

An Unidentified Gunman Has Shot And Killed A Person At Megaspitiya

An unidentified Gunman arrived from a Motor Bicycle has shot and killed a Person at Megaspitiya in Uragasmanhandiya (In Southern Province)Area this afternoon according to Police.

The Gunman who was the pillion rider of the Motor Bicycle has fled away from the area soon after the shooting.

The body of the deceased has sent to Balapitiya(In Southern Province) Base Hospital for autopsy it has been reported.

Uragaha Police are conducting investigations on the incident.

Matara-Katharagama Road Was Blocked For Several Hours Due To A Fallen Bo Tree Branch

The vehicle movement of the Matara-Katharagama(In Southern Province) main road had been disrupted for few hours this morning due to a branch of Bo Tree had fallen to the road near Seenimodara Bridge in Tangalle and blocked the road.

Due to the incident a heavy traffic jam has been reported on Matara-Katharagama Road it has been reported.

However authorities have taken steps to remove the fallen Bo Tree Branch from the road and restore the transport services back  to normalcy according to the Police.
