Police Narcotic Bureau Officials Have Arrested Drug King Pin Wasantha Mendis At Katunayake Bandaranaike International Air Port

The Police Narcotic Bureau Officers have today(26) arrested Sri Lankan Drug King Pin Wasantha Mendis at the Katunayaka Bandaranaike International Air Port after being arrested in Thailand and deported to Sri Lanka.

Earlier Interpol has issued a Red Notice to arrest Drug King Pin Wasantha Mendis.

The suspect is due to be produced before Negambo Magistrate Court and will be questioned further under detention orders according to Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera

CID Launched And Inquiry On Late Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has begun an inquiry regarding  the demise of Venerable Late Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero according to sources.

Earlier Venerable Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero has stated that the death of Sobitha Thero is suspicious and requested government to  probe on the death.

Kuwait Fund For Arab Economic Development To Offer A Loan To Construct A New Building For Eastern University

Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development has signed a loan agreement with Sri Lanka on last Thursday(24) to  lending 10 Million Kuwait Dinar(US Dollars 34 Million) to construct a building complex for the faculty of Health Care Sciences in Eastern University.

The loan will be utilized for construction and equipment of main building ,Various Service Structures,Furniture ,Research,Medical and Technical Equipment,Internet Services and Internal Feeder Roads according to sources.

The loan agreement was signed by Secretary Of the Ministry Of Finance R.H.S Samarathunge behalf of Sri Lankan Government and Deputy Director General Of the Kuwait Fund For Arab Economic Development Hesham Al Waqayan.
