At The End Of Last Year 947 HIV/AIDS Positives Had Been Receiving Treatment For The Disease At Government Clinics

Image result for hiv aids'The National Sexually Transmitted Diseases/AIDS Control Programme  has stated that 947 HIV/AIDS Positives had been receiving treatment for the disease through the  Programme's Clinics attached to  Government Hospitals island wide at the end of last year(2015).

The Government is providing essential drugs and treatment for Sri Lankan HIV /AIDS Positives free of charge Dr.G ,Weerasinghe attached to National Sexually Transmitted Diseases/AIDS Control Programme has said.

Due to the effectiveness of these  drugs discovered recently  A HIV/Positive can now survive  a normal persons life without any difficulty Dr.Weeeasinghe has stressed.

Sri Lanka Navy Have Arrested Six Local Fishermen With Equipment While Illegally Fishing In Seas Of Trincomalee

Sri Lanka Navy have arrested Six Local Fishermen yesterday(23) along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy(A Kind Of Boat)they were in while engaged  in fishing in the seas of Kuchchaweli,Trincomalee (Eastern Province) by using illegal fishing equipment it has been reported.

The Navy Personal attached to Sri Lanka Navy Dockyard who carried out the raid  have also arrested two pairs of diving fins and a purse-sein net that fishermen used for fishing .

The arrested local fishermen along with other items have been handed over to Kuchchaweli Police for further investigations.

Around 60 Tea Factories Have Been Closed As A Result Of Dry Weather-Small Tea Estate Development Authority

Due to the Dry Weather Conditions Prevails in most parts of the country at present several plantation's including Tea have been effected badly according to sources.

The Small Tea Estate Development Authority has stated around 60 Tea Factories in the island mostly in Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces have been  closed down due to the destruction of  tea plantations  as a result of Dry Weather.

 This situation affected the daily income of Small Tea Estate Owners badly the authority has stated.

Draft Bill On Right To Information Was Presented To The Parliament

The much awaited  Draft  Bill on  Right To Information was presented to the Parliament by Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilake this morning.

All Nine Provincial Councils were given positive responses for the Draft Bill to go ahead according to the Government.

The Parliamentary Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has recently informed the Parliament that Six out of the Nine Provincial Councils namely Western,Southern,Eastern,Central,North Western and Uva had agreed with the content of Draft Bill while Three Provincial Councils Sabaragamuwa,Northern and North Central Provincial Councils have agreed to amendments to the Draft Bill.

The Cabinet has approved the Right To Information Bill on 02nd Of December 2015.
