Around 3276 Vacancies In Police Department At Present-Police Media Spokesman
There are around 3276 Vacancies in Police Department at present according to the Police Media Spokesman Assistant Superintendent Of Police(ASP) Ruwan Gunasekera.
Accordingly there are vacancies of 521 Male Police Superintendents,52 Female Police Superintendents.1861 Male Police Sergeants,567 Female Police Sergeants and 275 Police Sergeant Drivers ASP Gunasekera has said.
Applications have been called to fill the above vacancies from Police Officers at the Police Department who are having relevant qualifications he has further said.

General Secretary Of Allied Partner Of Government UPFA ,Professor Vishwa Waranapala Passed Awa
The General Secretary Of the allied partner of current government the United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA), Professor Vishwa Warnapala has passed away this morning while receiving treatment at a Private Hospital in Colombo.
The 79 years old General Secretary of UPFA was an active member of the main coalition party of UPFA ,the Sri Lanka Freedom Party(SLFP) since his university days.He was appointed as a member of the SLFP Central Committee by former Prime Minister Mrs.Sirimawo Bandaranaike in late 80's.
Professor Warnapala was the Minister of Higher Education of previous government during 2007-2010 period.
President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed late Professor Warnapala as the General Secretary of UPFA on 14 th of August 2015 after former General Secretary of UPFA Susil Premjayantha has resigned from his post.

Two Naval Coastal Guards Were Arrested For Allegedly Misbehaving At Fort Railway Station
The Police have today(27) arrested two Naval Coastal Guards attached to the Wellawatta(In Colombo) Coastal Guard Unit of Sri Lanka Navy while they allegedly misbehaving at the Colombo Fort Railway Station under the influence of Alcohol.
The Police have arrested the two misbehaved Naval Coastal Guards this evening and produced before Colombo Magistrate Court for further action it has been reported.

A Dead Body Of A 39 Year Old Dambulla Resident Has Been Found From Mahaweli Canal
A dead body of a man has been found today(27) at the Bank of Mahaweli Canal in Dambulla(In Central Province).
The 39 year old deceased who has been identified as a resident of Bulanela in Dambulla had drowned in the Bank Of Mahaweli Canal and died by fallen down into the water while crossing the canal Dambulla Police have said.
Dambulla Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.
