Eleventh Anniversary Of The Tsunami Disaster Which Hit Sri Lanka On 2004 Falls Tomorrow(26)

The 11th Anniversary of the Tsunami Disaster which hit Sri Lanka on 26th of December 2004 falls tomorrow(26).

The Disaster Management Center has appealed the Public to observe 2 minute silence from 9.25 a.m to 9.27 a.m on tomorrow morning to commemorate the Tsunami Victims.A Religious Ceremonies to commemorate Those who killed due to   Tsunami Disaster will be conducted in all 25 Districts of the Island tomorrow according to the center.

Tsunami Disaster which hit Sri Lanka 11 years ago had killed more than 35,000 Sri Lankans and destroyed a large number of properties in the country.

Southern Expressway Has Been Generated Around Rs.16 Million Record Income On Yesterday(24) Alone

The Southern Expressway has been generated a record income of Rs.16 million on yesterday(24) alone due to excessive traffic The Road Development Authority has stated.

During yesterday a record number of 50,000 Vehicles had used the Southern Expressway ahead of the  long weekend the Authority has said.

An Excessive 2-3 Kilo Meter long Traffic has been reported at Godagama Interchange Exit of the Southern Expressway yesterday(24).

Around 550 Prisoners Have Been Released For Christmas

Image result for prisonAround 550 Prisoners have been released today(25) in view of Christmas according to the Prisons Department.

The released prisoners have served sentences for minor crimes in prisons throughout the island  and they have been released under the Presidential Pardon the department has further stated.

Two Women Have Been Killed After Being Hit By A Car At Kandy -Jaffna Main Road

Two women have been killed yesterday (24) at Galwaduwagma Area on Kandy-Jaffna Main Road after being hit by a Car.

The Two women being hit by a Car Travelling from Tirappane to Galwaduwagama while they were walking on the road last evening according to Police.After being admitted to the Anuradhapura General Hospital in critical condition the two women aged 52 and 62 years old have succumbed to their injuries shortly afterwards.

The driver of the Car has been arrested regarding the killing of two women and Tirappane Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.
