Police Have Decided Not To Bring The Main Supect Of Five Year Old Girl's Murder To Kotadeniyawa As Public Launched Protests

The Police have decided not to bring the main suspect of  five year old Seya Sadewmini's murder today(25)  to  Kotadeniyawa in view of  gathering  evidence regarding the murder  ,as a large number of residents in the area are protesting against the suspect  since this morning.

The 32 year old main suspect who was arrested from a forest area in Gampaha District(In Western Province) on last Wednesday is due to be taken today to the place in kotadeniyawa where the murder was happened.

Additional Police and Special Task Force Personal are deployed in the area to keep law and order.


Four Persons Killed Due To A Three Wheeler-Bus Collision

Four Persons including two females have been killed this morning due to a Three Wheeler-Bus collision occurred at Koskadawila Junction in Athurugiriya(In Western Province) According to the Police.


One person who got injured due to the accident  was admitted to Thalangama Hospital and the bodies of the deceased are placed in Thalangama and Homagama Hospitals.

Police Have Arrested A Former Army Major And His Asistant With 35 Kilo Grammes Of Marijuana

The Police have arrested a former Army Major and another person with 35 Kilo Grammes Of Marijuana in their possession this morning at the exit gate of Southern Express Highway according to the acting Police Media Spokesman Priyantha Jayakody.

The stock of Marijuana was stored in three Bags belonging to the  two suspects.

The Horana Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Saudi Arabia has said this evening there are no reports on Sri Lankans among st the victims who were killed in a stampede occurred at Islamic Holy City Of Mecca today(24).

Due to the stampede which occurred during one of the last rituals of the Haj Season around 717 pilgrims were reported as killed and another 863 were injured  according to the latest foreign media reports.
