Election Monitors CAFFE Has Received 12 Election Related Complaints Up To Now

The Election Monitoring Group CAFFE has received 12 Complaints on Election related Violence's  up to now according to the CAFFE.

These complaints have received since declaring the
election date according to the executive director of CAFFE ,Keerthi Tennakoon.The majority of these complaints are related to damaging of properties and assaulting cases he has said.There 's a complaint on assassinating a person too CAFFE ,executive director has revealed.



Tourist Arrivals To Sri Lanka In This June And During Last Six Months Have Increased

Sri Lanka's Tourist Arrivals in June 2015 have risen by 12 % when compared to June last year according to the Government Information Department .In last June 115,467 Tourists have arrived Sri Lanka and tourist arrivals from India and China have seen growing rapidly.

During last six months (January to June) of this year the total number of Tourist Arrivals to Sri Lanka have risen by 14.1% with 830,051 Tourists when compared to last year.

The majority of the Tourists who were arrived during last six months of this year were from three  European Countries namely United Kingdom,Germany and France according to the information department.

PAFFERAL Election Monitors To Hand Over A Petition Tomorrow(06) By Demanding No Nominations For Drug And Ethanol Dealers

The Election Monitoring Team PAFFREL(Peoples Action For Free And Fair Elections) is due to  hand over a petition signed by one million people to secretaries of all political parties  tomorrow (06)by demanding not to give nominations for Drug and Ethanol Dealers to contest the forthcoming Parliamentary Election.

PAFFREL officers are due to make a people's pledge after handing over the petition by stating that people will not vote for fraudulent candidates  who are contesting in forthcoming election.

Giving Nomination To Former President From UPFA Was A Great Betrayal -JVP

The Leftist Party Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has said today(05) that President Maithripala Sirisene's decision to give nomination for former president Mahinda Rajapakshe from United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) was  greatest  betrayal occurred in recent political history.

The Secretary Of The JVP ,Tilvin Silva has said that 6.2 million voters in the country has voted for President Sirisene on the Presidential Election held on 08th of January just to defeat former president Mahinda Rajapakshe's dictatorship rule and by giving nomination for the former president ,current president has betrayed the expectations of those voters 

Nominations From All Political Parties And Independent Groups For The Forthcoming Election To Be Accepted From Tomorrow(06)

The nominations from All Political Parties and Independent Groups contesting for the forthcoming Parliamentary Election will be accepted from tomorrow(06) to 15th of this month the Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya has announced.

There will be no deposits for the 64 Registered and Recognized Parties that contesting for the election ,however a deposit of Rs.2000 per candidate will be charged from candidates contesting from Independent Groups until 13th of July Election Commissioner has said.

Meanwhile the Election Commissioner has said that applications for Postal Votes will be accepted  from 03rd to 10th of August.
