The Lanka Private Bus Owners Association (LPBOA) says they will withdraw operating Buses with effect from midnight today (12th) due to the Diesel Price Increase which came in to effect from yesterday .However Other Private Bus Owners Associations are refused to join the strike and says that they will operate Buses as usual.
According to Lanka Private Bus Owners Association due to the high increase of Fuel Prices the Bus Operators incur heavy losses and have no other option than to launch a trade union action.
Meanwhile Single Day and Small Fishermen in Negombo are also decided to boycott fishing from midnight tonight as a protest on ever rising fuel prices.
