Health Ministry Ordered Pharmaceutical Reps.To Meet Hospital Docs Only Twice A Weak


Ministry Of Health Directed All The Hospital Directors From a Circular To Allow Private Pharmaceutical Company Sales Representatives Only Two Days A Weak To Meet Hospital Doctors Instead of Everday Allowed to Them by Earlier.According to The Ministry Sources Pharmaceutical Reps will Not Allowing to Meet Doctors at their Clinics or Wards and Can Meet Them In Meeting Places or Seminar Rooms.

Rivira Editor And His Wife Were Attacked And Stabbed By Four Persons


Four Unidentified Persons Armed with Poles and Knives Attacked and Stabbed the Chief Editor of the "Rivira" Newspaper and the President of the Editors Guild Mr Upali Tennakoon This Morning.He and His wife on their way to Work from Their House at Imbulgoda in The Gampaha District When this Attack Occured.Mr.Tennakoon and His Wifa Mrs.Dhammika Got Admitted to the Accident Service of the Colombo General Hospital and Their Condition is Stable Doctors said.
Four Unidentified Gunmen Who Came with Motor Bikes Blocked the Mr.Tennakoon's Vehical and They Broken the Windskreen of His Side and Attacked Him with Knives According to Mrs.Dhammika who was in front Seat at that time."I Screemed And From My Hands Covered Him.When I Covered Him They Stabbed His Face from the Knives and My Right Hand Too was Injured From the Attack.After Attacking us Thugs Fled Away In Front of the Crowd Gathered there" She Stressed.Thugs Involved in this Attack Covered Their Faces with Helmets Mrs.Dhammika Further Added.

Addressing a Press Briefing In Colombo To Day Dr.Upul Gunasekara The Assistant Secretary Of The Association Said that The Cardio Thoracic Surgeons of the Hospital Last weak appealed to the Ministry Of Health to Send Cardiac Patients who Are in the Waiting List of the Colombo National Hospital with the Money For Jayawardenapura Hospital Due to they are Not having Patients to Perform Surgeries.However The Cardio Thoracic Unit of the Hospital Is Currently Facing A Drug and Equipment Shortage and How they Can Perform the Surgeries under This kind of Circumstance Is a Question He Stressed. The Governing Board of the Hospital Is Engaged In Spending Heavily The Funds Received By The Hospital For Useless Things like Painting A kitchen Instead of Developing the Infrastructure Dr Gunasekara Said.
If the Health Ministry Not Taking Steps to Correct this Irregularities of the Jayawardenapura Hospital Within Two Weeks Time GMOA Will Take A Stern Action against It He further Added.
