Ceypetco Increased The Petrol Price

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has increased the price of a liter of Octane-92 Petrol by Rs.30 with effect from midnight tonight (01) .

With this new price hike a Liter of Octane-92 Petrol has been increased to Rs.370 to Rs.400 .Meanwhile Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) has also announced that they too will increase the price of a liter of Octane -92 Petrol by Rs.30 with effect from today .

The convener of the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) Wasantha Mudalige had been released on bail today (01) by the Colombo Fort Magistrate over the three cases filed against him at the court .

Constitutional Council Called Applications To Elect Members Of Independent Commissions

In Sri Lanka, parliament passes 22nd amendment to the constitution | ConstitutionNet Speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane has today (31) announced that the application to appoint the members of the Independent Commissions will be called from tomorrow (01 ) and the deadline for applications will be 15th of February .

Accordingly application will be called to appoint the members of the Independent Commissions ,The national elections commission ,human rights commission ,Judicial services commission ,national police commission ,commission to investigate allegations of bribery and corruption ,procurement commission,national audit commission and the public services commission .

The constitutional council had decided last Monday (30) to publish the advertisement on newspapers regarding the calling an applications to elect the members of the independent commissions
