Employees attached to the State Printing Corporation in Colombo had held a protest in front of the Printing Corporation premises last noon (26) over skyrocketing Prices of Essentials including Food, Fuel, and Gas without a limit.
Protesters also opposed the do-away of government employees' allowances. They had requested the government to go home without putting the public in further difficulties

The draft of the 21st Amendment to the Constitution which proposed to curtail the powers of Executive Presidency was submitted to the Cabinet today (23) by the Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapkshe .
The draft bill is seeking to reintroduce the features contains in 19th amendment which gives more powers to the Prime Minister and the Parliament ,However the draft bill retains the powers vested to President on increasing the number of judges to the high courts and President's power to dissolve the parliament only after two and half years .
The Cabinet is scheduled to be considered the proposed Amendment to the Constitution by next week .
