Former Minister Mangala Samaraweera has Died Whilst Receiving Treatment At A Private Hospital

 Former Minister And veteran politician Mangala Samaraweera has died today (24) whilst receiving treatment for Corona infection at a private hospital  in Colombo .He was 65 years old st the time of his death .He had earlier admitted to a hospital in Matara a week back after beinh tested positive for Corona virus .Lsyer he was alrlifted to a private hospital in Colombo few days back as his condition had worsened .

The deceased former Minister has held  several ministerial portfolios during his long political career under different governments  including Ministry of Finance and Foreign Affairs 

He had quited from politics after last year's General election .

Number Of Oxygen Dependent Corona Positives In Hospitals Are On The Increase

The number of  oxygen dependent Corona positives who are being treated at local hospitals are on the increase as a result of  the surge of daily Corona infections in the country according to Hospital sources ,

Although the daily requirement of Oxygen in local hospitals is around 40 to 50 tones that number is being doubled at the moment due to the increased number of Corona positives it ahs been revealed ,These days nearly 100 tones of Oxygen needed to treat those Oxygen dependent Corona positives' at hospitals it has been reported m  

Sri Lanka is currently importing additional stocks of Oxygen due to the rising demand from India Health Ministry has stated ,

4353 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (23)

 Another 4353 Corona Positives had been reported today (23) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far in the country to 394,355 according to the Ministry Of Health .

At the moment 42,608 Corona Positives are being treated at Government Hospitals and Quarantine Centers it has been revealed ,

So far 344,381 Corona positives had been recovered and discharged from hospitals and quarantine centers 

Another 194 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (23)

 A total of 194 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (23) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 7560 according to Director General Of Health Services(DGHS) ,

Accordingly 103 females and 91 males had died today due to Corona infection DGHS has announced Out of the deceased 145 were over 60 years of age it has been revealed ,
