A total of 3591 Corona Positives had been reported today (19) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far in the country to 151,343 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
The number of Corona positives that had bern reported today is the highest number of Corona positives reported on a single day it has been revealed .
At the moment 27,925 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals and treatment centers the Center has stated .
A total of 36 Corona Positives had been reported in the country today (19) Increasing the total number of Corona. Deaths reported so far to 1051 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
This is the highest number of Corona deaths reported in Sri Lanka on a single day it has been revealed .
Accordingly 19 males and 17 females resided in many areas had died due to Covid Pneumonia and complications of the non communicable diseases suffered by them the Center has stated ..
Government has decided to impose island wide travel restrictions from 11 p.m on this Friday (21)night until 4 a m on next Tuesday (25) and again from 11 p.m on Tuesday night until 4 a m on Friday morning (28) in view of containing the spread of Corona virus in the country it has been announced.
Meanwhile Government had today declared next Monday (24)) and Tuesday (25) as special Government holidays ahead of the two day holiday next Thursday and Friday to mark vessk festival .
The total number of Corona deaths reported so far In the country has exceeded 1000 after 34 new Corona deaths had been reported today (18)according to the National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
Accordingly the total number of Corona deaths had risen to 1015 with the new corona deaths reported today the Center has stated .
Among the Corona deaths that had been reported today ,There were 18 males and 16. Females resided mainly in Outstation areas and Colombo district including from Mattakkuliya ,Colombo -02,Dematagoda ,Wellampitiya ,Nugegosa and Boralesgamuwa areas .
The deceased were of the ages 20-83 years and had died due to Covid Pneumonia and complications of non communicable diseases suffered by them as a result of Corona infection it has been revealed .
The Ministry's Of Health has yesterday (17) decided to refer the identified Corona positives to the nearest medical center or an intermediate Treatment center near the house of the positives as the treatment capacity of hospitals is overflowing .
This decision has been taken during the National Covid committee meeting held last morning (17) at the Health Ministry auditorium ,After considering the mental pressure face by the family members of Corona positives the Ministry has stated .
Meanwhile Ministry is still preparing the health guidelines to treat non symptomatic corona positives at their homes Health ministry Pavithra Wanniarachchi has told .
