A four year old child had been killed due to a Wild Elephant attack at Galapitagama Temple in Kaluwaragaswewa area this evening (30) whilst participating a Bodhi puja (Religious observances ) held at the temple with mother .
A Wild Elephant arrived at the temple grab both the child and the mother by his trunk but only trampled the child after falling to the ground according to reports .The critically injured child. Had succumbed to his injuries after admitting to Anamaduwa hospital.
Three areas in Mirihana ,Nugegoda (Colombo )and Kurunagala (North Western Province )are being. Isolated today (30)due to the surge of Corona Positives in these areas the National Covid -19 Prevention Center has announced .
Accordingly Pragathipura ,Rahulapura and Walsiripura areas in Mirihana ,Nugegoda and vilgoda area in Kurunagala are being isolated from today until further notice it has been reported .
Three areas isolated in Mirihana ,Nugegoda faced these restrictions due to the reporting of 14 Corona positives from those areas and vilgoda area in Kurunagala had been locked down today after 6 persons in the area had been tested positive for corona virus.
In Addition another 02 persons working as fish merchants in vilgoda also tested positive for the virus and all businesses in Kurunagala City had been closed down as a result
The total number of Corona positives reported in the island so far had been passed 10,000 mark this evening (30)after 314 fresh Corona Positives had been identified through "PCR "tests it had been reported .
Accordingly the total number of Corona Positives reported do far in the island had risen to 10,105 today according to Epidemeology Unit .
A total. Of 140 Corona positives had been discharged from government hospitals today (30) after full recovery according to Epidemeology Unit .
Accordingly Majority of them which is 78 were discharged from Neville fernando Teaching hospital in Malabe and the rest were discharged from 09 government hospitals including IDH hospital in Angoda and Kaththankudy hospital ,after full recovery .
The total number of Corona positives discharged from Hospitals do far had risen to 5804 according to authorities .
The majority of Corona positives reported yesterday (29)in Sri Lanka had been identified from Colombo District according to the National Covid -19 prevention center
Accordingly 209 Corona positives had been reported from Colombo District , 199 were reported from Gampaha District and 46 were reported from Jaffna District yesterday .
A total of 586 Corona positives had been reported yesterday in the island
