A Prison inmate who was rehabilitated
at Drug Rehabilitation Center in Kandakadu ,Welikanda had tested positive for Corona virus today (07)after returning to Welikada Prison it has been reported .
The prison inmate was transferred to IDH Hospital .With the new Corona positive the total number of Corona positives identified in the country had risen to 2078 .Yesterday (06)only one Corona positive had been tested positive for Corona virus and the person was an arrival of Maldives
Due to this incident health officials had taken steps to quarantine 605 persons at Drug Rehabilitation Center in Kandakadu (474-currently rehabilitating and -131 staff members ) as well as staff of the Polonnaruwa prison who were transported the inmate to Welikada Prison.
These persons are being quarantined at their working places it has been revealed.
All these persons and inmates of Welikada Prison are being performed on "PCR "tests to check their corona status
recovered and discharged today (07)from government Hospitals, increasing the total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals to 1955 according to the Epidemeology Unit .
