A Person Was Arrested With 240 Illegal Liquor Bottles

Police have arrested a 39 year old
Person with  240 illegal liquor bottles in his possession at DanGala, Morawaka area last evening (12).

The suspect who is a resident of DanGala area had kept liquor bottles without obtaining a licence  in his possesion for selling to devotees arrived in Esala  Festival at Gatabaruwa Devalaya in Morawaka it has been revealed.  

Negambo High Court Sentenced Seven Pakistani Nationals Life Imprisonment

Negambo High Court had sentences
seven Pakistani Nationals including a female who had been found guilty on importing ,Keep in possession and smuggling Heroin to Sri LANKA  life time imprisonment on 28 th of August.

The seven accused had been arrested by the Police Anti Narcotic Bureau and later the Bureau had filed a legal case against them.

These accused have arrived in Sri Lanka several times in the past and brought kilos of Heroin Police Media Spokesman's office had stated. 

Milk Powder Companies To Stop Importing Milk Powder Temporarily

Local Milk Powder Companies have
decided to stop importing Milk Powder temporarily as the Cost of Living Committee had  not allowed to increase the imported Milk Powder prices it has been announced .

The prices of a Kilo Gramme of Imported Milk Powder were scheduled to be increased by Rs.50 with effect from 01st of September accordance to the price formula and Consumer Affairs Authority has also planned to implement the new Price revision Milk Powder Companies revealed.

However Cost of Living Committee has refused to approve the new Price revision and as a result Milk powder companies incurred a loss by importing Milk Powder Companies have stressed. This has happened as the prices of Milk Powder has been increased in the world market they have stated .

Tribunal High Court Judge Panel Issued Summons Agsinst 13 Respondents Of Avant-Guarde Floating Armoury Case

Tribunal High Court Judge panel had
yesterday  (12) issued summons  to 13 respondents of the Avant-Guarde floating armoury case including the chairmans of Avant-Guarde company and Secretary of National Police Commission  to appear before the Judge panel on 27 th of this month to handover the indictments against then .

The indictments regarding the court case filed against the respondents  by the Attorney General Dappula De Livera with 7573 charges are due to be handed over to the respondents on 27th.

This is the first time in Sri Lanka's Judicial service history that a large number of indictments schedule to handover regarding a court case .

The court case was filed against 13 respondents over maintaining a floating armoury illegally in southern seas .
