Parliamentary Select Committee Probing Easter Sunday Attacks Had Allowed The Attorney General To Leave The Committee Sittings

Parliamentry Select Committee probing

on Easter Sunday Attacks had today  (26)allowed Attorney General Dappula De Livera who was asked to appear before the committee today, To leave  the Committee sittings without giving evidence due to a special statement made by him .

The Attorney General Had told the Committee which met at Parliamentary Complex today that problems will arise in his duties by giving evidence before the committee .

Attorney General Had also stated that he has informed on this to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya as well through a letter .

Afterwards Committee members have allowed the Attorney General to leave the committee sittings .

One Person. Died ,Seven Injured Due To A Wasp Attack In Jaffna Kovil

A 63 year old person has died and

seven others had been injured and hospitalized due to a Wasp attack in a Hindu Kovil at Kopai area in Jaffna last night (25).

Eight persons had been injured ,one of them critically and admitted to Kopai and nearby hospitals where the critically injured had succumbed to his injuries .

The Wasp attack occurred when the wasps in a nest located near the Bell of the Kovil had provoked when the devotees rang the bell as a part of their religious observances  it has been revealed.

The provoked wasps attackEd the group of devotees rang the bell according to reports.

The seven injured persons had left Hospitals after receiving treatment according to Police.

A Person Had Linked With Extremist Thowheed Jamaath Leader Zahran Had Been Arrested

Colombo Crimes Division had arrested

a 22 year old person who had links with the leader of the Extremist Thowheed Jamaath Ogranulation and the chief suspect of Easter Sunday attacks Mohommad Zahran Hashim  in Colombo .

The suspect who is a resident of Gorakaoya area in Nawalapitiya had participated in speeches of Zahran held at Hambanthota it has been revealed during the police investigations.

The suspect is being questioned under the detention of Colombo Crimes Division .

Sixteen Health Catagaries To Launch A One Day Token Strike On 08th Of August

Sixteen Health catagories  including

Nurses ,Professions For Suppplamentary  To Medicine (PSM's) and Paramedical officers are scheduled to be launched an Island Wide one day token strike on 08th of August demanding solutions for 09 of their service demands according to the president of Health Professional Services Joint Confederation  Saman Ratnapriya .

If the Health Authorities fail to provide solutions  for the demands during the strike The Joint Confederaction will launch an Island Wide Continuous Strike within two weeks after the one day strike he has stressed .

The Joint Confederation demanding solutions for longstanding 09 Service demands including Promotions ,Salary and recruitment issues Ratnapriya has stressed.

Addressing the press briefing held at Government Pharmacist Union office in Punchi Borella, Colombo last morning (25)Saman Ratnapriya has told that the current Health Ministry Secretary Wasantha Perera has not given any meeting to their unions to discuss on these demands. She is not willing to giving discussions to the trade unions unlike previous Health Secretaries he has revealed.
