A Faculty Of Jayawardanapura University Had Been Closed Down Indefinitly

The Faculty of Management attached to

Sri Jayawardanapura University ,Colombo had been closed down indefinitely by the University management today (21) over a ragging issue .

According to the Management of the University senior students of the Management faculty had ragged the first year students of the faculty several times recently and although warned senior students not to do so, they have today not allowed first year students of the faculty to attend lectures.

By considering the developments University management has decided to closed down the Management faculty Indefinitly it has been announced.

Riot Police fired Tear gas and Water cannons twice to disperse a University Students Protest

march organized by Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) by demanding solutions to students problems including ragging in few universities including South Eastern University whilst they have attempting to march towards the Presidential Secretariat without accepting Police orders this noon (21) at Lotus Roundabout in Colombo Fort.

Thousands of University students who had begun their protest march from Technical junction in Maradana (Colombo) this noon had arrived in Lotus Roundabout though Colombo Fort and as Police have blocked the roundabout with Police barricades,They have attempted to break the barricade and march towards the Presidential Secretariat it has been revealed.

At that time Riot Police have fired Tear Gas and water cannons to disperse the student protesters .However as the students protesters refused to leave the place Police have fired tear gas as well as water cannons and disperse the protest march.

Due to the protest march heavy traffic had been reported in Maradana and Colombo Fort it has been revealed.

A Person Was Killed And Two Otters Critically Injured Due To A Motorcycle Collision

A retired Station Master had been killed and two others had been critically injured and

hospitalized after the Motorcycles they were travelling in colliding each other at Jaynthipurayaya -11 area in Polonnaruwa last evening (20) according to Police.

The two critically injured Motorcyclists had been admitted to Jayanthipura Hospital and later they had been transferred to Polonnaruwa Base Hospital for further treatment .

The incident occurred whilst the station master had attempted to turn his Motorcycle to go home it has been revealed.
