Punished For An Act Of Sin -A Monk And His Driver Remanded Over Molesting Of A Buddhist Nun

A Buddhist Monk who is a chief
incumbent of a Temple at Padaviya area in Anuradhapura and his driver had been remanded until 01st of February by the Anuradhapura District Magistrate and Additional District Judge Janaka Samarasinghe  today  (23)over sexually molesting a 43 year old Buddhist nun at Anuradhapura.

The suspected Monk and his driver had been arrested by the Police after they had taken the Buddhist nun who arrived at a clinic of Anuradhapura Hospital on 16th of January, from a car and molested her .

The suspects had been arrested after  Buddhist Nun complained on them.She has been transferred to Ragama Teaching Hospital from Anuradhapura Hospital for a medical test.

The Magistrate has ordered the Prisons Commissioner to produce the  driver of the Monk for an identification parade on 01st of February. 

A Baby Elephant Had Been Recovered From A Cesspit At Kabithigollawa

had been recovered from a newly constructed Cesspit of a House at Bellankadawela, Kabithigollawa area (Anuradhapura )today (23) by the Wild Life officers attached to Pandulagama  ,Anuradhapura .

The Baby Elephant separated from a Herd of Elephants had fallen in to a Cesspit and had been taken out from it after the House owner informing regarding the Baby Elephant to Wild Life officers.

The Baby Elephant who is now at Veterinary section of the Pandulagama Wild Life office is in good health and due to be taken to the Udawalawa, Eth AthUru Sevana shortly. 

Ten Foreign Nationals And Five Locals Had Been Injured Due To A Wasp Attack At Little Sripadha

Ten Foreign Nationals and Five Sri
Lankans had been injured and hospitalized due to a Wasp attack occurred whilst climbing the Little "Sripadha " Mountain at Ella ,Badulla This morning (23).

The injured had been admitted to the Demodara Provincial Hospital for treatment .

The incident occurred as a result of the provoking of a wasps in a nest at a Tree nearby  it has been revealed. 

Ella Police are conducting an investigations over the incident. 

Two Youth Had Drowned In MahawelI River

Two youth had drowned whilst bathing
in Mahaweli River at Gampola area (Central Province ) this evening  (23).

The two youth of the ages 16 and 23 years old had faced this incident whilst bathing with their father it has been revealed.

A search operation has been launched to find out the missing youth who are residents of Ethgala ,Gampola area .
