A Baby Wild Elephant Had Been Rescued From A Crocodile Attack In KilinochchI

old had been rescued from a crocodile attack by the Wild Life officers in KilinochchI area it has been reported.

The Rescued Baby Elephant is currently receiving treatment at the Hospital in Girithale Wild Life Office as he had  received severe injuries to three of his legs it has been revealed .He is still unable to walk due to the injuries according to reports.

The Baby Elephant Is recovering as a result of the medical treatment. 

Sluice Gates Of Three Reservoirs Opened -Transport Activities In Puttalam-Mannar Road Restricted From Eluwankulama

As a result of the rising water levels caused due to heavy showers prevailing in sluice gates of Rajanganaya ,Daduru Oya and Thabbowa Reservoirs had been opened yesterday  (01)according to Department Of Irrigation.

Accordingly two sluice gates each of Rajanganaya and Daduru Oya reservoirs and four sluice gates of Thabbowa Reservoir had been opened.

The Irrigation Department has warned the people living near kala oya, Daduru Oya and Mee Oya to be vigilant over possible floods as the reservoirs above releasing water to these oya s .

Meanwhile as a result of increasing water level of Kala Oya(River) ,Eluwankulama area in Puttalam-Mannar road had been submerged since yesterday and transport activities in the road had been restricted as a result .

Few Ministers Sworn In Before President

Two Cabinet Ministers ,Six Deputy
Mimisters and Five state Ministers of the new government appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena had sworn in before president last evening  (01) at the Presidents Office.

Accordingly MP Duminda Dassanayake has been sworn in as the Mimister of Irrigation and water resources and MP Dayasiri Jayasekare had sworn in as Minister of Skill development .

Other MP' S who had sworn in including  Nishantha Muthuhettigama ,SriyanI WijeWikrama and Mohan Lal  Grero.




A Person Was Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

Anti Narcotic Bureau officials Excise
Department had arrested a person whilest transporting nearly 1 Kilo Grammes of Heroin in a Motor Car at Kurana area in Negambo today (01).

The estimated value of the haul of Heroin taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is around Rs.10 million according to Excise Department .
