People's Protest March Organized By JVP Caused Heavy Traffic In Several Colombo Roads

Heavy traffic had been  seen in many
roads in Colombo from Borella to Maradana and Colombo Fort and surrounding areas for several hours this evening (23)as a result of the People's Protest March organized by Leftist  Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP ) against several things that affects public imcluding increasing the prices of commodities and fuel.

JVP Had begun the Protest March from Punchi Borella area and it marched towards Colombo Fort Railway station against increasing Prices of essential commodities /fuel,Increased Taxes/Fines ,Fraud and Corruption of government, Not arresting Corrupt people etc.

A large number of people including youth ,Farmers ,Buddhist Monks, Fishermen ,Students ,Women representing unions attached to JVP had been participated the protest march .

The Protest march has ended at Colombo Fort Railway station .

A Landslide Occurred In A Ten Acre Land In Koslanda

A Landslide occurred in around 10 acre
land in naketiya ,Koslanda area due to the Heavy showers prevailing in the area at present it has been reported.

The Landslide has  occured above the land where Sri Lanka's  largest Landslide had occurred recently.Few families are  residing  in the Landslide risk  area it has been revealed.

The experts of National Building Research Organization (NBRO)have today visited the Landslide area to inspect the situation.

Meanwhile the Disaster Management Center had advised the residents of the area to be vigilant on showers as it may speed up the Landslides and to avoid walking in.the road .

A Section Of Habarana-Polonnaruwa Main Road Had Sunk

Habarana -Polonnaruwa main road
had sunk from Rilawanguwa ,7th post area in Minneriya due to the heavy showers prevailed in the area during last night (22)according to authorities.

Due to the sunken area,Transport activI ties of the road had been restricted to one lane .
