Sri Lanka Won Another Two Bronze Medals At The Commonwealth Games

Sri Lanka have won two bronze medals today(13)at the 21st Commonwealth Games currently underway at Gold Coast in Australia.

Acordingly Boxer Thiwanka Ranasinghe had won the Bronze Medal in 46-49 KG catagory although lost the match to an English player.

Weightlifter Ishan Bandara had won the second Medal of the day for Sri Lanka in 52 KG catagory of the weightlifting.

Sri Lanka so far won six medals at the Commonwealth Games including a Silver Medal and five Bronze Medals.

Two Were Killed And Seven Others Injured Due To Cab-Lorry Collision

Two persons were killed and seven
others were injured and hospitalized after a Lorry colliding with a Cab which was parked near a bridge at Welikanda on Polonnaruwa-Baaticaloa main road today(13).

The Cab with seventeen passangers including five children  was parked on the roadside after hearing a wild elephant came across the road and the Lorry arrived in had collided with the Cab and as a result the Cab had toppled over to a canal it has been reported.

The injured have been admitted to rhe Welikanda Hospital and two of the critically injured a female and the Lorry assistant had succumbed to their injuries after transferring to Polonnaruwa Hospital.
