Gas Companies To Increase The Price Of A 12.5 KG Gas Cylinder From Midnight Tonight

Local Gas companies have decided to increase the
price of a 12.5 kilo gramme LP Gas cylinder by Rs.110 with effect from midnight tonight (25).

Accordingly the price of a 12.5 Kilo Gramme Gas cylinder will be increased by Rs.110 from Rs.1400 to Rs.1510 it has been announced.

Government had recently reduced the Gas prices as per an election promise given during the presidential election campaign.

Around 47 Persons Injured Due To A Head On Collision Between Two Buses

Around 47 persons had been injured and hospitalized
after a private bus colliding with a Sri Lanka Transport Board (Langama) bus in Batugedare area on Ratnapura-Palmadulle road this afternoon (25).

Both bus drivers are among the injured and two passangers have been critically injured according to the reports.

Central Province Governor Has Said The Provincial Education Secretary Has Responsible For Using School Children To Hold A Saree Fall

The governor of the Central Province Niluka
Ekanayake who had today (25)commenced an investigation on using 250 primary school girls illegally to hold the fall of world's longest saree ( (Kandyan Osariya) during school hours in Kandy last week, had today declared that the Education Secretary of the Central province should be guilty for the incident and released the Chief Minister of the Central Province sarath ekanayake on the charge.

The Central Province governor Niluka Ekanayake has asked the Educational directors of Central province and Katugasthota Educational Zone ,the principal of Alawathugoda Primary School and Education secretary of the province to appear before governor's office today to face the investigation.

However except the Education Secretary of the Central province other officials had attended the event and after an initial investigations the lady governor had clearly stated that the chief minister of the province Sarath ekanayake who had seen attending the wedding and holding the fall of the longest saree for awhile with school children,has nothing to do with the incident.

However she quickly stated that the Education Secretary of the province who was absent today should be responsible for the incident and should question him over it.

The governor didn't mention about the principal of the school who had proudly talked to the media on the wedding day of two models where the longest saree fall displayed ,and said that he had proud the participation of school children of his school for the event.

The investigation continues further the governor has announced.

President Sirisena Had Instructed Finance Ministry To Impose 100% Tax On Imported Big Anions

President Maithripala Sirisena has today
(25)instructed the Ministry of Finance to impose a 100% tax on imported Big Anions (Bombay Anions)with immediatte effect as a step to protect local Big Anion farmers .

After considering the difficulties faced by the local Big Anion farmers when selling their harvest ,President has made this request and accordingly the prices of imported Big Anions will be increased by 100% in future as a result it has bedn revealed.

A Heavy Traffic Had Been Reported In Maradana Due To A Fallen Tree

A heavy traffic had been reported for hours this
evening (25)at Maradana and nearby roads due to a tree had fallen to a bus at Olcott Mawatha(Road) near the technical collage junction in Maradana(Colombo).

The tree had fallen due to the strong winds and police and fire brigade officers are involved in removing the tree it has been reported.
