Major Government Hospitals Are Again Flooded With Dengue Patients

Due to the increase of Dengue Mosquito lavae
breeding places in the country as a result of the rain prevailing in many parts of the country ,The number of Dengue patients admitted to the  major Hospitals of the country has been increased rapidly during last few days  according to the Hospital directors.

At present medical wards of these Hospitals have flooded with Dengue patients and in Colombo National Hospital around 400 Dengue patients are cuurently receiving treatment for the disease .

Around 200 Dengue patients are there in Lady Ridgway Childrens Hospital and 340 patients in the Kalubowila Teaching Hospitals authorities have revealed.

As the hospital staff of these hospitals treating Dengue patients  too are at risk of getting the disease ,steps have been taken to clean  the Hospital premises to ensure that the enviornment is  free from Dengue mosquito breeding places authorities have stated.

Meanwhile Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has appointed the former Director General Of Health Services Dr.Ajith Mendis to coordinate Dengue Control activities in Ministry level.

Police Have Arrested Three Persons Over Illegally Transporting 48 Goats

Wariyapola Police have arrested three persons over
illegally transporting 48 goats in a van for slaughter at rambawa junction on Wariyapola-Chilaw main road.

The suspects are residents of kakunagolla and katupotha areas.

Police Arrested Three Persons Of A Cash Robbery

The robbers have stolen the money belonging to a Garment Factory in Wattale while transporting  it the Kadawatha Branch of the factory.

Bribery Commission Has Arrested A Government Physician Over Taking Bribes From Private Laboratories

Image result for dr taking bribeThe Bribery Commission officials have today(03) arrested a Physician attached to the Kuliyapitiya Hospital who was responsible for taking huge amount of bribes  from Private Medical Laboratories  to send the Hospital Patients for those Laboratories.

The suspected Physician had taken bribes around  Rs.20,000 to Rs.30,000 from Private Laboratories  monthly for sending Hospital patients there for tests it has been revealed.

If a Laboratory fails to provide the requisite bribe to the Physician, he has recommended the patients  to go to another Laboratory by stating that  the Test reports of previous Laboratory are false according to the Bribery Commission officials.

GMOA To Launch An Island Wide Continuous Strike From Wednesday(05) Over SAITM Issue

Related imageGovernment Medical Officers Association(GMOA) has today(03) decided to launch an island wide continuous strike of the doctors in Government Hospitals from this Wednesday(05) demanding a permanent solution for the Malabe Private Medical Collage (SAITM) problem.

The mechanism due to be adapted for this Strike will be decided within next 24 hours GMOA has stated.

Around 15 Dengue Mosquito Lavae Breeding Places Found In Moratuwa University Premises

Image result for moratuwa universityAround 15 Dengue Mosquito Lavae Breeding places have been found in the premises of  Moratuwa University which closed temporarily recently due to spreading of Dengue and viral fever among students, during a fumigation and cleaning programme carried out there this morning(03) the Ministry Of Health has announced.

During the Programme  Mosquito breeding places have been recovered  in Construction sites  of the Moratuwa University the Ministry has stated.

Although  three Public Health Inspectors are there in the University at present ,no action has been taken to fumigation  and cleaning the University premises after the first Dengue patient had found among students it has been revealed.

One female student attached to the Moratuwa University has died and more than 80 students fallen sick due to the Dengue and Viral fever spreads in the University it has been reported.

Meanwhile it has been  decided to carry out a fumigation and cleaning programme in all the University premises in the island under the supervision of Vice chancellors of the Universities to avoid spreading Dengue during a meeting held at Health Ministry today(03).
