Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe To Appear Before Presidential Commission Inquiring On Serious Frauds(PRECIFAC)

Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe is due to
appear before the Presidential Commission inquiring  into serious acts of fraud and corruption (PRECIFAC)to give a statement regarding a financial loss experienced by the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation after telecasting his election ads during the presidential elections.

The former President is due to appear before the Commission as per the request made by the Commission members.

Cabinet Approved A Proposal To Purchase Samba And Nadu Rice For Fixed Prices

Cabinet has approved a proposal to purchase  Samba
varirties including Keeri Samba and Nadu rice  for Rs.41 and Rs.38 per kilo respectively.

These rice varieties will be purchased for given prices during the forthcoming maha season according to the Government.

A 40 Year Old Person Drowned In Gin Ganga

A 40 year old person who was engaged in laying  a
fishing net in modarawatte, harbor in Gin ganga (river) at nagoda ,Galle area had been drowned it has been reported.

The body of the deceased who was a resident of Mapalagama area was recovered by the Sri Lanka Navy/Police officers and residents of the area.

Three Persons Were Injured And Hospitalized After A House Roof Collapsed On Them

Image result for house roof collapsed clipartThree persons were injured and hospitalized after a roof of a residence in Fairline road in Dehiwala(Western Province) collapsed on them last night(14).

The injured were admitted to the Colombo South(Kalubowila) Teaching Hospital for treatment. 

The roof was collapsed as a result of a wall of a storied building nearby fallen to the roof the Police have stated.

Sixty Six Schools In Kinniya Closed Due To Dengue

Due to the rapid spreading of Dengue in Kinniya area at Trincomalee District at present ,66 schools belonging to the Kinniya Educational Zone had been closed down for three days with effect from today(15).

Around 13 persons died in Kinniya due to the Dengue Epidemic  according to the sources.
