Train Services Between Wellawatta And Dehiwala Will Be Suspended Until Next Monday

Due to the construction work of a new bridge the train services of coastal railway line between  Wellawatte to Dehiwala (Colombo)will be temporarily suspended from 10 p.m  today(23) until 4 a.m on next Monday(27) according to the Railways Department.

Accordingly the trains begin from Colombo Fort Railway station will be traveled only up to  Wellawatte Railway Station and the trains arrived from Aluthgama,Matara and Galle will be restricted to Dehiwala Railway Station until next Monday.

Airport Customs Officers Arrested A Chinese National With 16 Kothala Himbutu Cups

Airport Customs Officers had last night (22) arrested a Chinese National who attempted to smuggle 16 cups made from wood of Indigenous Flowering Plant "Kothala Himbutu"(Salacia Reticulata) grown in dry zone Sri Lankan Forests, illegally to China at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport.

The estimated value of the Cups the Chinese suspect attempted to smuggle is around Rs.160,000 according to the Customs.

Airport Customs Officers had confiscated the stock of Kothala Himbutu Cups and released the 33 year old Chinese Suspect who is a worker attached to Moragahakande Project.

A Part Of A Door Step In Galle Fort Had Fallen Down After A Lorry Colliding With It

The upper part of the door step attached to  the
 historical Galle Fort (Soithern Province)had broken and fallen down after a lorry colliding with it, it has been reported.

The lorry which arrived from Galle Court end had collided with the door step when trying to go through it  the sources said.

The door step of the Galle Fort believed to be built in 1647 by the Dutch .

All Ceylon Medical Officers Association Lodged A Complaint Against CEO Of The SATIM

All Ceylon Medical Officers Association has today (22)
lodged a Complaint at Police Headquarters in Colombo against the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SATIM and director of Malabe Private Medical Collage Sameera Renuka Senaratne.

Through the complaint the Medical Officers Association has requested the police to take legal action against the above mentioned who is a fake doctor not registered under the Sri Lanka Medical Council.

The director of the Malabe Private Medical Collage Sameera Senarathne should be punished after  conducting  a proper inquiry on him the General Secretary  of  the Association has stated.
