A Fire Broke Out At Singimale Reserve In Hatton Destroyed Ten Acres Of Land

A fire broke out at Singimale forest reserve in Hatton
(Up country) had been destroyed around ten acres of land so far according to reports.

The fire had broke out yesterday (22)evening an it has been spreading towards the top of the reserve it has been reported.The Cause of the fire not yet been revealed.

A Sudden Fire Destroyed Medical Equipment In Ambalangoda Hospital

A  sudden fire erupted at Emergancy Ward in
Ambalangoda District Hospital(Southern Province) yesterday (22) had been destroyed several medical equipment in the ward it has been reported.

The sudden fire caused by an electric short circuit it has been revealed during the  preliminary investigations.

Two Members Appointed To The Right To Information Commission

Prrsident Maithripala Sirisena has appointed Dr.Selvy
Thiruchandren and Justice A.W.A Salaam as members of the Right To Information Commission formed under the Right To Information  Act yesterday (22).

The appointees have received their appointment letters from the President at Presidential Secretariat in Colombo yesterday.

The Right To Information Act which was passed in Parliament on 24th of June this year  is due to be implemented with effect from  next February.

Jaffna Magistrate Has Remanded Seventeen Indian Fishermen Arrested In Sri Lankan Waters

Seventeen Indian Fishermen arrested by the Sri Lanka
Navy Personal while illegally fishing in Sri Lankan waters   were remanded until 05th of January by the Jaffna Magistrate  yesterday (22) after being produced before the Magistrate.

Navy Personal had also taken into custody the three fishing boats the fishermen were in and they were brought to Kankasanthurai it has been reported.

The Indian fishermen who were arrested at waters in Naduntheevu (Northern Sti Lanka)area are identified as residents of Rameswaram and Jagadapattinam at  Pudukottai District in Tamil Nadu.
