Joint Opposition's Protest March Has Commenced From Peradeniya

Image result for protest arch clip artThe protest march(Paadha Yathra) of the Joint Opposition Group had commenced from Peradeniya (In Central Province) this morning despite the retraining order issued against it by Kandy Chief Magistrate yesterday(27).

A large number people including the supporters of  MP's belonging to  Joint Opposition Group have seen involved in the protest march which named as "Jana Satana"(People's Fight:).The former president Mahinda Rajapakshe along with several other Joint Opposition MP's are currently moving along the Colombo -Kandy road with the protest march  it has been reported.

India Has Approved A US Dollars 318 million Loan For Sri Lankan Railways

Image result for sri lanka railwaysIndia has approved a US Dollars 318 million loan for Sri Lankan Railways according to Sri Lankan authorities.

This loan will be used to improve signal system from Maho to Anuradhapura in the North Central Province and from Anuradhapura to Omanthai (In Northern Province) according to the Cabinet Spokesman and Minister of Media and Parliamentary Affairs Gayantha Karunathilake.


The loan will be also utilized to purchase ten engines and one hundred sixty carriages,Thirty wagons with oil tanks,Twenty Container carrying wagons  and six power sets with Air Conditioned carriages Minister Karunathilake has stated.

Cabinet has approved a proposal submitted by Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe to reach an agreement with Exim Bank of India for the loan.

A Medical Association Has Allowed A Foreign Milk Powder Company To Promote Their Products During Annual Academic Sessions Of The Association

At a time the government doctors are Campaigning against  consuming of Milk Powder ,the medical circles have amazed the decision taken by one of the leading medical associations in Sri Lanka The Sri Lanka Medical Association to allow a foreign Milk Powder company to sponsor their three day a annual academic sessions held at a star hotel during this week.

The Annual Academic Sessions of the Sri Lanka Medical Association which ended today had been mainly sponsored by the above mentioned foreign Milk Powder company and under the sponsorship the  company had allowed to display banners of their Milk Powder products including infant formulas during the sessions  it has been reported

As the  government doctors are promoting breastfeeding  among mother's to feed their infants a DR's Association backing a Milk Powder company to advertise their products Is a very unfair according to Medical Circles.
