Foreign Judges Will Not Participating The Investigation On Alleged Human Right Abuses Occurred During Final Phase Of War Between Armed Forces And LTTE- Co-Cabinet Spokesman

investigation සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලForeign Judges will not  participating   and only the foreign components like Technology and Aid will be used for the investigation on alleged human right abuses occurred during the last phase of war between Sri Lankan Armed Forces and LTTE ,the Co  Cabinet Spokesman and Minister of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has said today(28).

The Investigation on human right abuses will be carried out with the assistance  of local judges Dr.Senaratne has said.He has made these remarks as the opposition members of the Parliament has accused that the government is trying to investigate on alleged human right abuses with the participation of foreign judges,

The former foreign minister professor G.L Pieris has stated recently that the President and Prime Minister have made different statements regarding the investigation on alleged human right abuses related to war between Armed Forces and LTTE.

Former Sri Lankan Air Lines Chairman Nishantha Wikramasinghe Has Given A Statement To Presidential Commission On Fraud And Corruption

nishantha wikramsinghe සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලThe former chairman of the Sri Lankan Air Lines Nishantha Wikramasinghe has today(28) given a statement to the Presidential Commission Of Inquiry to investigate and inquire into serious acts of Fraud,Corruption And Abuse Of Power ,State Resources And Privileges ,regarding the alleged financial irregularities occurred at Sri Lankan Air Lines Catering Service during his period.  

The Former Sri Lankan Air Lines Chairman is the brother in law of former president Mahinda Rajapakshe.

Government Has Increased The Special Commodity Levy Imposed On Imported Mackerel Fish By Rs.50

The Cabinet has approved a proposal to increase a special commodity levy imposed on mackerel fish imported to Sri Lanka for production of canned fish by Rs.50 to Rs.100 per kilo gramme according to the government.

The Proposal to increase the special commodity levy on imported mackerel fish was submitted to the cabinet by Minister of Fisheries And Aquatic Resources Mahinda Amaraweera .Accordingly the concessionary levy on imported mackerel fish will only be granted to the local canned fish producers who produce them according to the given standards.

In 2013 the Special Commodity Levy imposed on imported mackerel fish had been increased by Rs.100 per Kilo Gramme to encourage the local canned fish producers.However the levy has been reduced to Rs.50 per Kilo Gramme in 2015 to provide concessions to the customer.

Annually Sri Lanka is  importing 20,000 Metric Tonnes Of Canned Fish for domestic use.
