Imprisoned Former Army Commander Launched A Brief Hunger Strike

The Imprisoned former Army Commander General Sarath Fonseka has begun a hunger strike this noon as a protest of  not taking him to the regular medical checkup at a Private Hospital after his court proceedings held today according to his wife Mrs.Anoma Fonseka.After the Court Proceedings Welikada Prison Officials taken him to the prison from back door instead of taking him for a medical checkup she said.

However General Fonseka has called off  the Hunger Strike after  prison authorities have decided to take him  for  the medical checkup.
