Sri Lankan High Commissioner To Be Appointed As Foreign Secretary

Sri Lankan Ambassedor to India Mr.Romesh Jayasinha is expected to be appointed as the Next Foreign Secretary according to the Government Sources.He will succeed the outgoing Foreign Secretary Dr.Palitha Kohona who is to be appointed as the Residential Sri Lankan Representative of the United Nations in New York.

Former SSP'S Wife Remanded For Student Assault Case

The Wife of the Former SSP of Colombo Crimes Division Vaas Gunawardana was questioned by the Police this morning Regarding the Assaulting of an IT Student Nipuna Ramanayaka and remanded till 31st of this month Police Sources revealed.

Former SSP'S son already in Police Custody along with other suspects of the Assaulting Case.

Delay Of Implementing An Inquiary Report Worries The Health Unions

Sri Lankan Health Trade Unions charged that around 40 Defendants who were issued Charged Sheets over the using of Expired Blood Kits are not punished by the Public Services Commission(PSC) from almost a year since the handing over an Inquiary Report to the Commission.The Inquiry Report on the Expired Blood Kits Case was handed over to the PSC by the Health Secretary Dr.Athula Kahanda Liyanage on 01st of September last year.

Around 40 defendants including the Former Director of the National Blood Transfusion Center in Colombo and Two Store Keepers and a Doctor were among the charged over using expired Plasma Pherasis and A Pherasis Kits for the patients.

Court Ordered To Arrest Wife Of The SSP Over A Student Assault

Sri Lankan Magistrate Court ordered to arrest the Wife of Interdicted Colombo Crimes Division Head SSP Vaas Gunawardane yesterday over the Assaulting Case of the IT Student.However she was not at home when a Police Team went to arrest her according to the Police Sources.Former SSP Vaas Gunawardena was transferred to the Police Headquarters as a normal Police Officer soon after his involvement in the Assault was reported.

His Son who is the Main Suspect of Assaulting the IT Student Nipuna Ramanayaka got admitted to the South Colombo Teaching Hospital after complained about an illness while other suspects including Police Officers were remanded after produced before the Courts.

BTI Bacteria To Relese To The Market

Ministry Of Health is planning to release the locally made BTI Bacteria which is use to destroy the Dengue Mosquito Lavea to the Market soon .According to the Health Ministry Locally made BTI Bacteria and the Cuban Made Bacteria will be released to the Market soon which enable the Public to using it for Dengue Breading Sites in their House Hold.

Ministry is planning to release the Bacteria in 80 Mili Litre Form Bottles and selling it for a reasonable price.Bio Power Lanka Private Limited already began producing the BTI Bacteria and expected to finishing it in 30 days time.Importing of the Cuban Made BTI Bacteria will be made after examining the Report handover by the Visiting Cuban Epidemiologists to the Health Ministry Ministry Sources said.

BTI Bacteria is selling to the Public due to Government is not having enough Man Power and Efficiency for using it in large scale.

All IDP'S To Re Settle After Clearing Mines

Sri Lankan Government will Re Settle All the IDP's in the North after clearing the Land Mines planted in those Areas Minister of Disaster and Relief Services Rishad Badurdeen says today.Land Mine Threat caused the delay of re settling Process of the IDP'S he stressed.
Government already clearing the Mines of the Area and soon after finishing this process Re settlement of the IDP'S will begun he further added.He disclosed these facts at a Media Briefing in UN Compond this evening.

Replying to a Question raised by a Journalist UN Resident Representative of Sri Lanka Bruhne said that it is Government's Responsibility to maintaining the IDP Camps in the North and UN only assisting the Process.Therefor if some camps in the North are facing Floods the responsbility is in the hands of the Govt.as they select the Camp Sites,construction and ,dozer it he stressed.
