National Election Commission Finally Decided To Hold General Election In June Considering The Current Corona Pandamic Situation

The National Election Commission has
today (20)issued an Extra Ordinary Gazette Notification by fixing 20th of June as the date for holding the postponed General Election .

The National.Election Commission had met today and unanimously decided to fixed 20 th of June as Election day as the prevailing condition in the country  amidst Corona epidemic is not suitable for holding an early Election .

Most in the government  wants to hold the election on early May opposed by the opposition parties  as well as several key trade unions which wrote to the Election commission not to hold the election amidst current corona virus epidemic .

Election commission has earlier postponed the General election which was scheduled to be held earlier  on 25 th of April .

Attorney General's Department Had Closed Down After A Female Security Officer Tested Positive For Corona Vurus

Attorney General's Department has
been temporarily closed down today (20) After  a female Security officer providing security for the Department had been  tested positive for corona virus it has been stated .

The corona virus positive female had been admitted to the Infectious Diseases Hospital at Angoda for treatment .

 the Female security officer attached to a Private security firm which provides security for the Attorney Generals Department had been  tested positive for the virus according to the Department

The Corona virus infected female security officer had supplied food for her Security officers in the Attorney Generals Department according to reports .

The Attorney General's Department has today informed the Judicial Services Commission on it's closure .

Another 08 Persons Under Quarantine From Keselwatte Area Tested Positive For Corona Virus -Total Number Increased To 303

Another 08 Corona virus positives had
been reported from the country this evening (20)increasing the total number of Corona positives in the country to 303 according to Epidemeology Unit .

So far 32 Corona positives had been reported today the highest numbe of corona infected cases reported in the country within a single day the Unit has stated .

All the 32 positives  reported from today along with 13 out of 17 positives identified yesterday(19) belonging to the group of persons sent yesterday to quarantine centers from keselwatte area in Colombo it has been revealed .

All these had been infected with the corona virus affer they have close contacts with a Corona posotive female resident of Kotahena area  who had returned from india last month according to reports .Even the husband and two sons of the female had tested positive from the virus due to the female and 10 members of a one family at rhe next door of that female also tested positive for corona virus yesterday it has been revealed .

The female was tested positive for the virus after admitting to Colombo National Hospital.

Curfew In 22 Districts Had Been Lifted Today (20)-Curfew In Four Districts Including Colombo To Continue Until Next Monday

Afrer identifying 24 corona virus
positives from a group who are under quarantine in quarantine Centers ,Government has decided to continue the curfew imposed in Colombo ,Gampaha ,Kalutara and Puttalam Districts until 6 a.m next Monday (27).

Earlier curfew imposed in these disctricts had lifted at 5 a.m this morning except 25 police divisions belonging to these districts .

However curfew in other 22 districts including Kandy and Jaffna districts earlier ifentified as high risk zones of spreading corona virus had been lifted at 5 a.m today and will be re imposed from 8 p.m tonight until 5 a.m tomorrow(21).

Curfew in these districts will be partly imposed until this friday and from friday  night at 8 p.m curfew will impose in these districts until 5 a.m on Monday according to Government sources .

As curfew has been lifted in many districts from this morning  train and bus services return to normalcy in those districts it has been reported .
