Around 38 Essential Drugs Are Currently Out Of Stock In Government Hospitals -All Ceylon Nurses Union

Around 38 Essential Medicinal drugs
are out of stock in Government Hospitals Island Wide and in the Medical Supplies Division (MSD) these days according to the secretary of the All Ceylon Nurses Union H.S.B Madiwatta.

Essential Drugs prescribe for Cancer, Mental ,Neuro,Heart ,Diabetes drugs are among these out of stock drugs and and patients are being faced enormous difficulties due to this situation Mr.Madiwatta has stressed .

Commonly used drug Aspirin 75 Mili Gramme is out of stock in Both government Hospitals and Medical supplies Division since few weeks it has been revealed.

"Government had blacklisted the pharmaceutical company "Pharm Ace ' from which Former Health Minister  Dr.Rajitha Senaratne had imported   400 varieties of drugs to local Hospitals. As a result these drugs too are now at low supply level and soon they will be reported as out of stock drugs items . Still Health Ministry Has not taken steps to import these drugs supplied by Pharm Ace "company through another company. As some other drugs too are getting out of stock government should have taken steps to import these drugs as soon as possible before the situation getting worse "he has stated .

Ministry Of Health To Introduce Health Corners For Every Workplace And NCD Testing Facilities For Banks And Supermarkets

Ministry of Health has planned to intro
duce health corners for every government institution to provide the employees  test facilities for non communicable diseases free of charge with effect from early this March .
         
Accordingly Health corners will be provided  the State institute employees a chance to  getting  tested of  non communicable diseases including Blood Preassure  , Cholesterol, Blood sugar which are on rhe increase in the country , free of charge.

Some private pharmaceutical companies are assisting in   this effort according to the Ministry .

Also Health Ministry Has planned to introduce  these Testing facilties to Banks and supermarkets island wide with  the aim of providing testing facilities like Blood Preassure tests and BMI tests for customers free of charge to identify these diseases earlier and minimise spreading of  them . The Ministry has already requested from these institutions to implement this as soon as possible   Deputy Director General of Health Services (Non Communicable diseases )Dr.Champika Wikramasinghe has stated during a Function organized in this regard at BMICH Colombo last Tuesday  (18).

Addressing the event Dr.Wikramasinghe has stressed that already Keals Supermarket Chain has agreed to implement this in.their supermarkets soon.

Health corners are already functioning at more than 1000 National Schools island wide under the name "Suwa Divi "(Healthy life ) centers she has revealed .

Parliamentary Select Committee Submitted A Proposal TO Parliament Requesting Banming Burka Face Coverings

The Parliamentary Select Commiteee
on National security had yesterday (20)submitted a proposal containing solutions for 11 issues arisen after the Easter Sunday attacks including a proposal to ban wearing face coverings  like Burka cloth for the approval .

The proposal suggests to ban Burka as well as giving powers to police to arrest a person who is not able to remove the such coverings upon a request .

It also suggests  to recruit all students currently in Madrasa schools  teaching Islam to the schools under Education Ministry within next three years and stop registering political parties based on Race and Religion .

Fire Smoke Lead The Closure Of Colombo-Katunayake Expressway For Many Hours Yesterday (20)

highway had been closed. down for traffic since last evening (20) up to night as a result of a smoke of a fire erupted in nearby Solid Waste managment center at Ambalanmulla ---Seeduwa Garbage collection yard   has  been spreads in surrounding area of the highway .

However few hours  later  a section   of the express highway had been opened from paliyagoda up to the Ja-Ela entry .
Amidst the smoke and poor visibility  .However later in the night  the Express  highway had been fully opened after the fire was brought under control  according to the Road Development Authority .

Colombo Municipal council fire brigade ,Gampaha Fire brigade ,Sri Lanka Airforce, Sri lanka Army personal along with  Special Police Task Force had been involved in dousing the fire of the solid waste managment center in vicinity of Muthurajawela reserve .

Sri Lanka Airforce Bell -212 helicopter had carried out 22 bambI operations to douse the fire .

The dry weather and the winds prevailed in spreads the fire erupted in the Garbage center according to reports.
