Polonnaruwa Magistrate Ordered To Release 85,000 Kilo Frammes Of Rice Taken Into Custody Over Not Suitable For Human Consumption

has today (16)ordered the Welikanda Public Health Inspector (PHI) to release a stock of  85,000 Kilo Grammes of Rice taken in to custody by Comsumer Affairs Authority and sealed under a court order over sellimg a stock which was  not suitable for human  consumption ,back to the owner .

The stock of Rice which was talen in to custody by Consumer Affairs Authority on 26 th of November last year was sealed under the court order ,However the owner of the Rice stock New Ratna Rice Private Limited in Polonnaruwa had submitted a report of Government Analyst saying the rice stock was  suitable for human consumption .

Therefore Polinnaruwa Magistrate has ordered the Welikanda PHI to release the Rice stock back to the owner .

A 22 Hour Water Cut Mafia To Hit Colombo On This Saturday (18)

A 22 hour long water cut will be
implemented in Several areas of Colombo including Colombo ,Dehiwala ,Mount-Lavinia ,Kaduwela and Kotte Municipal Coumcil areas from 9 a.m on this Saturday(18)to 7 a.m on following day (Sunday ) due to an annual maintainance work at Ambathale Water purifcation center according to National Water Supplies And Drainage Board .

The other areas where the 22 hour water cut scheduled to be implemented are Maharagama,Boralesgamuwa and Kolonnawa Urban Council areas and Kotikawatta,Mulleriyawa Rathmalana and Soyzapura Flats .

Long hour water cuts will be caused spreading of communicable diseases like diarrhea and Dengue as well as cause hygenic provlems in the society according to Medical circles .

A National Programme To Provide Essential Commodities To Low Income Fanilies For Lower Prices

President Gotabaya Rajapakshe has
decided to  implement a National Programme to provide Essential Commodities including Rice ,Dhal ,Fish and Eggs to low income Earning families for lower prices through an Electronic card government has announced today(15).

Accordingly Samurdhi Beneficeries and Non Samurdhi beneficiries not engaged in an employment ,families without an employment and those suffering from severe diseases are being provided with essential commodities for lower prices .

An Electronic Card is due to be provided for the low income families to purchase commodities for lower prices .

These lower price essential commodities will be supplied to low income earning families through Sathosa and Cooperative sales outlets it has been revealed.

The traders will be given essential food items and equipment for concessionary rates to encourage them to sell essential commodities to low income families for reduced prices .

MP Ranjan Ramanayake Had Been Remanded Until 29 th Of January

Kumara had today (15)ordered to remand United National Party (UNP)MP  and popular actor Ranjan Ramanayake until 29 th of January over defamimg  and inluencing court judges .
MP Ramanayake who had been arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD)  last noon(14)had been produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate Court this noon after being questioned on allegations levelled against him.

Nugegoda Magistrate has also ordered the authorities to produce MP Ramanayake before Government Analyst for a voice test to ascertain whether the voice in the recorded telephone conversations circulated in social media is that of him

Nugegoda Magistrate had issued an arrest warrant yesterday to arrest MP Ramanayake accordance to the request made by CCD .

CCD had requested the Magistrate to issue an arrest warrant to arrest MP Ramanayake accordance to the order given by Attorney General Dappula De Livera .
