Arround 77 Families Have Been Evacuated Due To Landside threats

Around 77 families had been evacuated

from landslide threat areas at Badulla District accordance to the Dissaster Management Center .

The evacuation had taken place due to soil nound collapse ,crates in the ground and landslide threats the Center has stated 

The evacuetees are being located in tbree centers of Badulla district namely Mahakanda,Hali Ela .

All together around 800 members of 200 families in  Badulla District  have been effected due to showers .

Acting IGP Transferred An ASP Of CID Who Led Investigations Of High Profile Cases

A Senior police officer attached to the

Criminal Investigations Department (CID)Assistant Supirintendent of Police (ASP) B.S Thissera who has led investigations on high profile cases including Rathupaswala case and several cases on harassing journalists  has been transferred to Police Field Office Headquarters in Colombo with effect from last friday (29) according to the Police headquarters .

ASP Thussera had assisted the former CID Director Shani Abeysekare to investigate high profile cases mostly related to haressment made by powerful politicians of the government before 2015 has been transferred accordance to the orders of Acting Indpector General Of Police (IGP) Chandana Wikramaratne .

However the cause behind the sudden transfer has not yet been announced  

Three Died And One Missing Due To A Soil Mound Collapse

Three persons including a 17 year old   had been killed and a 15 year old boy is missing as a result of collapsing of a  soil mound in to their house at  Moonwatte,Malapattawa area in Walapane ,Nuwara Eliya last night around 7.30  p.m.

All four family members belonging to a same family went missing soon after the soil mound collapse ,However bodies  of the three of the missing persons had been recovered this morning (01)during a search operation carried out by Army,Police and residents of the area .

The 15 year old boy went missing is scheduled to sit at the G.C.E O/Level examination which begins tomorrow(02) it has been reported.

The bodies of the  three dead  persons had been sent to Walapane District hospital for the Post mortum

Police and Army are continueing  the joint search operation to find out the missing boy.

Watet Levels Of Castlereigh And Maussakale Reservoirs Have Reached Spill Level -Engineers

Water levels of Castlereigh and Maussakale reservoirs have rearched it's spill level due to the heavy showers falling to the areas belonging to Western slopes in Central hills these days according to Engineers in charge of these reservoirs .

If the rain continues further spill gates of the reservoirs will be opened the Engineers have told the media .

Water levels of Many reservoirs including Laxapana  are being increased due to the heavy showers prevailing in . Meanwhile water level of Attanagalu Oya (River)is being imcreased due to the heavy showers and as a result surrounding areas of the Oya  currently experiencing a minor flood situation according to reports .
