STF Commander Senior DIG M. R. Lathif Told He Was Not Called For The Security Council Meetings Prior To Easter Sunday Attacks

Commander of the Special Police Task Force (STF) Deputy Inspector General Of Police  (DIG) M.R Lathif has today announced
(25)revealed that he was not called for the security council meetings held  prior to the Easter Sunday attacks by giving evidence before the Parliamentary Select Committee probing  on Easter Sunday attacks met at Parliamentary Complex today  (25).

STF Commander Lathif has also told if he has received an information regarding the Easter Sunday attacks prior to it  he would have taken every possible step to prevent it . However he has received an invitation for the Security council meetings only after the attacks STF Commander has stressed.

"I have  not received the Intelligence report on Either Thowheed Jamaath Extremist Organization or its leader Mohommad Zahran .However I have received details on a planned attack against Indian High Commission and as a result tightened the security in the commission ' he has stressed 

A 14 Hour Sudden Water Cut Is Now On In Several Areas In Colombo

A 14 hour long water cut has been
implemented in several areas of Colombo by National Water Supplies And Drainage Board today (25)from 8 p.m to 10 a.m tomorrow (26)due to a sudden breakdown of a main pipeline supplying water to the Kolonnawa Water Tank.

Accordingly  this Water cut is being implemented in Kolonnawa Urban council area Moragasmulla ,,Obeysekarapura ,Bandaranayakapura Nawala,Koswatta, Ethulkotte ,Rajagiriya ,To Nawala Open University main road and all sub roads attached to it it has been announced.

Dr Safi Has Been. Released On Bail

Dr.Seigu Siyabdeen Mohommad Safi
attached to Kurunagala Teaching Hospital who was in remand for more than two months over the charges of illegal sterilization of females , Money laundering, Earning assets by illegal means and supporting  and encouraging Terrorism has been released on bail by the Kurunagala Magistrate this evening  (25).

Accordingly Dr.Safi was released on a cash bail of Rs.250,000 and 04 surety bails of Rs.2.5 million  each by the Kurunagala Magistrate Sampath Hewa wasam .

As the lawyers of Dr.Safi requested bail for their client Attorney General has informed the Court that  he  has  no objection over granting bail for the doctor .According to Deputy Solicitor General Thusith Mudalige appeared begalf of the Attorney General   has told that there's no objection on releasing Dr.Safi as according to the 311 th article of The penal code it is a bailable offence.

Kurunagala Magistrate has also ordered Dr.Safi  to appear before the Criminal Investigations Deprtmen(CID) on every Sunday between   nine a.m to twelve noon  .
