Number Of Easter Sunday Bombing Deaths Now Reduced To 253 From 359-DGHS Dr.Anil Jasinghe

Number of persons killed due to the
Easter Sunday bombings now reduced to 253 from 359 as earlier stated according to Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe.


Around 149 injured persons out of 485 those admitted after the bombings are being still receiving treatment from  state hospitals Dr.Jasinghe has stressed.

Earlier the death toll has been estimated as 359 due to the damaged bodies received by Hospitals he said.

Only 06 injured persons had succumbed to their injuries after admission to state hospitals soon after  the bombings it has been revealed.

Curfew Has Been Imposed From 10 P.M

Curfew has been  imposed from 10 p.m
today (25)according to Department Of Police .

It will be lifted at 4 a.m tomorrow(26)

IGP Pujith Jayasundara Has Informed DIG'S Of Three Security Divisions Regarding Information Of Another Attack

Jamaath"which carried out deadly easter Sunday suicide bombings is now targeting to attack "Aulia" Muslim Mosques known as "Kuppu"Mosques in the island ,Inspector General Of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara has informed Deputy Inspector Generals of Police(DIG) in charge of Three security divisions today(25).

Accordingly IGP Jayasundara had informed on this to DIG's in charge of Presidential Security,Prime Minister's Security and Special Security divisions through a letter.

Meanwhile due to the threat of another terrorist attack Davatagaha Mosque (Town Hall,Colombo) management has decided to conclude it's prayer scheduled for tomorrow (26)early as early as possible it has been announced today.

However Minister of Postal and Muslim Affairs M.Halerm has requested from maulavi's of Muslim Mosques not to conduct friday prayer services tomorrow due to terrorist threats . 

Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando Has Resigned From His Post

Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando
has today (25)resigned from his post and handed  over the resignation letter to President Maithripala Sirisena it has been reported.

Outgoing  Defense Secretary had also removed his documents and goods from the Ministry office according to reports.

President Sirisena has yesterday (24)requested Hemasiri Fernando and Inspector General Of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara to resign from their posts due to their failure to avoid Easter sunday attacks.

United National Party(UNP)MP Wijedasa Rajapakshe had yesterday requested President Sirisena to remove Defense Secretary and IGP from their posts.

Suspiciious Lorry That Entered Colombo Was Recovered From Wattala

Kotahena Police have recovered  the
suspicious Lorry under the registration number WP-DAE 4197 which believes to be transported bombs for the suicide attack in Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo on Easter Sunday(21) whilst hidden in   a house at Nayakakanda, Wattala Colombo) this evening(25).

Police have announced few days ago quoted State Intelligance  unit  that a suspicious Lorry  carrying explosives had entered Colombo .

The Lorry which was registered under the name of one suicide bomber who had exploded at Shangri -La Hotel ,was taken in to custody by the police accordance to the information provided by a suspect arrested  today at Kotahena (Colombo)area .

Police are currently investigating on whether there are explosives in.the lorry.
