Despite The Asbestos Ban Imposed Here,Russian Delegates Had Discussed With Sri Lankan Health Minister On A New Asbestos Product

Although Sri Lankan government has decided to ban importing and using Asbestos  products here as it identified as cancer agent ,Deputy Health Minister in Russia Sergei A.Kraevoy along with officials of the Russian Embassy in Colombo ,Sri Lanka has launched a campaign here to promote  a new Asbestos sheet which they claim as Health proof and suitable for Sri Lankan climate and Houses it has been reported.

The Russian delegation led by Russian Deputy Health Minister has met with Sri Lankan Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratna recently to explain on this new variety of Asbestos sheet which the delegation introduced as made targeting Sri Lankan market it has been revealed .

Russia is the world's leading Asbestos sheet producer and due to the Asbestos ban imposed here ,The country has lost a major imcome it has been reported.

Actor Ryen Van Rooyen Who Was Expelled From Dubai, Has Been Furrher Remanded

Matara Magistrate Court has today

(11)ordered to further remand the  Tele Drama Actor Ryen Van Rooyen who had been expelled from Dubai after putting  in Jail , over keeping Kerala Cannabis in possession ,until 25 th of April .

The suspected Tele Drama actor who  had been arrested along with 30 others by the Dubai Police whilst attending a party hosted by Sri Lankan Drug Kingpin Makandure Madush in Dubai last february, had arrived in  Katunayake Airport on 05th of April after being expelled from Dubai.

The Actor had been arrested upon his arrival at Katunayaka International Airport by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officials for questioning .

Later he was handed over to Weligama Police to probe over the  charges levelled against him on keeping 5750 mili grammes of Kerala cannabis in his car parked at "Sunshine sudda" hotel in Mirissa .

He was later produced before Matara Magistrate Court on 06 th of April and remanded until today (11) by the Matara Magistrate. 

Three Persons Injured Due To Van-Motor Car Collision

Three persons had received minor

injuries and hospitalized due to a Van-Car collision at Athurugiriya area this morning (11).

Three injured persons including the Van driver and two passangers in the Motor Car had been admitted to Thalangama Hospital for treatment .

The incident occurred as the Van driver fallen a sleep whilst on the wheel it has been revealed.

A Sri Lankan Airlines Worker Has Been Arrested Whilst Attempting To Smuggle Gold Biscuits To The Country

A 23 year old Sri Lankan Airlines staff

member had been arrested by the officers attached to Narcotic control unit of the Airport customs , whilst attempting to smuggle 40  Gold Biscuits weighing around  4 Kilo grammes  in to the country today(12) at Katunayake Airport.

The suspect who is a resident of Wattala area and working as a ground staff member of Sri Lankan Airlines  has stressed that he had attempted to carry Gold biscuits  out of the Aitport  brought by his friend in Dubai.

The suspect   has hidden the stock of Gold biscuits worth Rs.30.2  million  one of his shoes it has been
reported.
