Minimum Fine Over Seven Motor Traffic Offences Has Been Increased Up To Rs.25,000

The minimum fine imposed over seven
Motor Traffic offences had been increased to Rs.25,000 with immediate effect  according to the Ministry of Transport.

Accordingly The minimum fine imposed over seven Motor Traffic offences including Driving without a Driving license and driving under the influence of liquor and narcotics will be increased to Rs.25,000.




Cabinet Defeated A Proposal On Declaring 11 th And 12 th Of April As Government Holidays -Approved 15 th As A Government Holiday

Cabinet has defeated a proposal
submitted to the Cabinet by Minister of Internal,Home Affairs and Provincial Councils Vajira Abeywardana seeking Cabinet approval for declaring 11th and 12th April as Government holidays prior to traditional Sunhala and Hindu New Year falls on 14 th Of April.

Cabinet has only given approval for declaring 15 th of April the day after New Year as a government Holiday .15 th of April is already declared as a Bank Holiday.

President Maithripala Sirisena along with several Ministers including Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne and Minister of Megapolis Patali Champika Ranawake have strongly   opposed the declaring of   11 th and 12 th of April  as government holidays it  has been revealed.

A Primary School In Mawanella Was Closed Down Due To A Provoking Of Wasps

Baddawala Primary School in
Mawanalla area had been closed down today (02) due to a provoking of a nest of Wasps located in a roof of a school building .

The studies of the primary school was disrupted yesterday (01) as well due to the provoking of Wasps in the nest .

School authorities have informed an Organization formed to protect bees over the incident ,However no one in the Organization had arrived in the scene it has been revealed..

Sri Lanka Cricket Board Imposed A US Dollars 7500 Fine On Test Cricket Captain Dimuth Karunaratne

Sri Lankan Cricket Board has imposed
US Dollars 7500 fine over Sri Lankan Test Cticket Captain Dimuth  Karunaratne for involving in a Road Accident under the Influence of liquor recently .

According to the Sri Lanka Cricket Board the amount of the fine is equal to the Fee paid for the cricketer for  a Test Match.

Dimuth Karunarane had been arrseted by  the Borella Police last Sunday(31) over the accident which injured a Three Wheeler driver at Horton place junction in Kinsey Road,Borella .He was later released on police bail and
released  on two surety bails after being appeared before  the court .
