A large area of land attached to Devon reserve near the Devon water
falls at Dimbula-pathana ,Thalawakale had been destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted in the reserve this noon(02) .

Around ten acres of land had been destroyed due to the fire it has been revealed .

Residents of the area along with police have managed to conteolled the spreading of the fire.Fire has spreads rapidly due to the strong winds and dry weather condition prevails in Talawakale .

Due to the flames of the fire transport activities of Hatton -Nuwara-Eliya main road had been disrupted .

A House In Ambalangoda Had Bern Completely Destroyed Due To A Fire

A House located near the Railway station at Kandegoda ,Ambalangoda in Galle District had

been c completely destroyed due to a fire erupted there last night (01).

The two family members who were in the house on rental basis were out of the house at the time of the incident .Police along with the residents of the area had doused the fire .

The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed and Police have suspected an individual or a group of persons might have lit the fire .

Ambalangoda Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.

Arrested VP Activist Lal Kantha Had Been Remanded Over An Accident

Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Political Bureau member K.D Lal Kantha who had

been arrested yesterday (01) after the Cab driven by him under the influence of liquor ,colliding with a Motor Cycle which injured a female Motorcyclist and her 14 year old relative daughter had been remanded until 14 th of March by the Anuradhapura Magistrate today (02).

The Suspected JVP Activist had been produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate Court this morning .

The two injured Motorcyclists had been admitted to Anuradhapura General Hospital due to the incident .The incident occurred on Kurunagala-Pittalam road last noon(01).

A School Boy And A Girl Had Been Killed After Colliding With A Train

A 16 year old School Boy and a 15 year old School Girl had been killed after colliding with a

Special Train travelling from Kandy to Ella area this morning (02) between Nawalapitiya and Inguruoya Train stations it has been reported.

The deceased were walked along the Rail track with another School Girl who is the girl friend of the deceased Boy at the time of the incident it has been revealed.The three students had informed their houses that they have a tuition class to attend but without attending the class they have walked along the rail track and met with this unfortunate incident .

The incident occurred when the deceased boy had pushed his girl friend out of the Rail track after seen a Train arrived in front and when attempting to push other girl who was behind out of the Track Train ran over both of them according to Police.

The deceased had been identified as residents of Dekinda,Nawalapitiya and Imbulpitiya ,Nawalapitya areas .

The bodies of the deceased had been sent to Nawalapitiya Base Hospital.
