Sri Lankan And Dubai Security Forces Arrested 23 Powerful Underworld Gang Members Including "Makandure Mahesh "

Sri Lankan Security forces along with Special Operations Unit of Dubai Police have arrested 23 powerful Underworld Gang Members including the leading organized criminal in  Sri Lanka "Makandure  Madush" whilst participating a Birthday party held at a Hotel in Dubai last night (04).

Among those arrested were So called popular singer Amal Perera  (Son of popular Melodious singer late Mervyn Perera )and a popular teledrama actor it has been revealed .

VariIties of Narcotics including Heroin and Cocaine had been taken in to custudy in possession of the suspects .

The party was held behalf of a Birthday of a son of one of the wives of Makandure Madush " and powerful Underworld Gang Members who had fled away from.the county were invited for it according to Police .

Few underworld gang members who were at the hotel had managed to escape from security forces it has been revealed.


Security forces here are investigating on the relationship between Singer Amal Perera, A popular teledrama actor and arrested  Underworld gang members .

Reports Of 18 Drug Smugglers Sentenced To Death Had Been Sent To President -Justice Minister

The reports of 18 accused who were 

found guilty over drug smuggling and sentenced to death had been sent to President Maithripala Sirisena for observation Minister of Justice and Prison Reforms Thalatha Atukorale has been revealed at parliament today (05).

These reports had been sent to President with the recommendations of Attorney General she has stressed.

Minister Atukorale has revealed thar although the reports of the Drug Smugglers had been sent to president,  he has not  informed on  the outcome .

A Person Was Arrested With 142 Illegal Cigarette Cartons

Airport Customs Officers have today 

(05)arrested a Sri Lankan who had attempted to smuggle 142 Cigarette Cartons containing foreign made Cigarettes illegally to Sri Lanka from Dubai at Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport .

The suspected who had arrived in from Dubai has hidden the Cigarette Cartons inside his luggage it has been revealed .

He is a resident of Kelaniya area according to Customs .

Four Persons Had Been Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Van Collision

Four persons had been injured and hospitalized after the Two vans they were travelling in

colliding with each other and toppled over the Chilaw-Colombo main road at Madampe City this morning (05).

The injured had been admitted to the Chilaw Base Hospital for treatment and their condition is not serious according to reports.The injured are residents of Kilinochchi District it has been revealed.

Two Persons Arrested With 110 Kilo Grammes Of Heroin

Officers attached to Anti Narcotic Unit

of Excise Department have today (05)arrested two persons with 110 Kilo Grammes of Heroin at Wellawatta and Piliyandala areas .

The haul of Heroin taken in to custody had been stored in 1 Kilo gramme each in 110 bags and hidden inside a house in Piliyandala area it has been reported.

The officers have arrested the two suspects whilst transporting a haul of Heroin at Wellawatta and the hidden stock of Heroin had been recovered  accordance  the information provided by them .

The estimated value of the haul of Heroin taken in to custody is more than Rs.1100 million it has been revealed .
