Two Motorcyclists Had Been Critically Injured Due To A Road Accident

Two Motorcyclists had been critically
injured and hospitalized after the Motorcycles they were riding in colliding with each other at Kotagala Commercial area on Hatton-Nuwara-Eliya main road this evening (24).

The injured had been admitted to the Kotagala Hospital and later they had been transfered to the Dikoya Base Hospital for further treatment.

The incident occurred due to the high speed driving of the two Motorcycles according to Dimbula Police.Two motorcycles had severely been damaged due to the incident.

Sluice Gates Of Four Reservoirs Had Been Opened

Sluice gates of Daduru Oya,Rajanganaya and Thabbowa reservoirs had been opened this morning (24)due to the rising water levels caused due to heavy showers prevailing in .

Accordingly 08 sluice gates of Daduru Oya Reservoir had been opened and the water level of Kala Oya (River) is on the increase according to the Disaster Management Center.

As a result of increasing water level in  Kala Oya ,Puttalam -Mannar road is being submerged .Transport activities of the road disrupted as a result.
