A 44 year old Indian National had been

arrested whilest attempting to smuggle 20 Gold Coins to China illegally at Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday (27).

The suspect has hidden the Gold Coins weighing around 160 grammes in his luggage it has been revealed.

The estimated value of the stock of Gold Coins taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is around Rs.800,000 it has been revealed.

A Wild Elephant Was Killed Due To An Electrocution

A Wild Elephant was killed due to an

electrocution at Maithreegama in Polonnaruwa last night (26 ).

The deceased Wild Elephant who was around 40 years old had faced this incident after colliding with a power lines putting up to prevent damaging Papaw cultivation in the area it has been revealed .

When Welikanda Police have attempted to arrest a person over putting up power lines ,villagers in the area had prevented it .

Parliament Should Be Convened Soon To Find Out Who Has The Majority -JVP Leader

Peramuna (JVP) Anura Kumara Dassanayake has said today (27) Parliament should be convened as soon as possible to find out who will have the majority of support there .

The change which occured yesterday (26)was a result of greed to power not to serve people or the country he had stressed during a press briefing held in Colombo today .

JVP Will stay neutral and not support any party to grab the power JVP Leader has further said.

An Indian National Was Arrested With A Stock Of Foreign Currency Notes

Airport Customs Officers have arrested

a 29 year old Indian National while attempting to smuggle Rs.10.53 million worth foreign currency notes to Dubai yesterday (26) at Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport .

The suspect who is a resident of Chennai,India had been attempted to smuggle a stock of Foreign currency notes imcluding Euros,British Pounds and Canadian dollars it has been revealed.

A Group Of MP's To Impeach President

A group of Parliamentarians are

planning to submit an Impeachment motion against President Maithripala Sirisena to the Parliament according to Minister Of Media Mangala Samaraweera.

The decision has been taken to impeach the President as a result of removing legally elected Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe it has been reported.

When asked on this ,Prime Mimister Ranil Wkiramasinghe has said during a press briefing held at Temple Trees in.Colombo that there are proposals like that but most importent thing at the moment is to convene the Parliament to show the majoroty .
